New Kippax Kop Thingy

Just wondering, everyone is getting prertty excited about the propsect of posibly getting a Kop like stand. The numbers that this stand might hold are prety high with numbers like 16-20 thousend being bandid aorund.
One question, do you think we could fill this stand with fans that are willing to stand up and sing. IMO there woudl be nothig worse then the 110-111 and the south stand moving to this kop and then being told to sit down by fans who are not wanting to stand up.
Whats your thoughts on this?
Thanks
agree completely mate. can you imagine all the south stand moving and all the fogies telling everyone to sit down. would be shite. plus we would lose the banter with the away fans. in an ideal world we would have a stand with huge flags and the fans jumping up n down.

So because you are a pensioner you are not allowed to a) sit down and b) sing????

a) I am in the Colin Bell stand and I am a pensioner. I don't stand because I can't for the full 45 minutes but

b) I sing and I shout for the team and yes I do get some funny looks but I have been supporting City for a long, long time and I will shout and sing when I want.

I pay for my season ticket and I am getting a bit fed up of people feeling that because we do not conform to what they want that we are not just as good and committed fans as you youngsters!!

As for away games, I go to as many of them as I can afford which this year has been quite a lot for various reasons, I stand for as long as I can manage, have a bit of a sit down every so often and never, ever, ever ask any fans to sit down!! I also sing at the away matches. Although, as I said in the Sunderland thread, it has been difficult this season because there has been a distinct lack of singing at away matches. No idea why that should be so but that's life I guess.

However I go back to my main point, it is not just the younger fans who sing and shout. I can sing whilst sitting down and see no reason why I have to stand to sing.

*rant over*

sorry mate i diddnt mean it in that way, i meant no offence by it.

i go with my dad but my grandma & grandad are in the same row, they and many other elderly people in the stand do not utter a word throughout the whole match and generally this is the situation throughout the whole club. obviously there are exceptions (such as yourself) as there are also exceptions among the younger supporters who choose not to sing what im trying to say is that the quieter supporters tend to have familys or be older veterans :)

Sorry LMBB I shouldn't have lost it, been a bit of a bad day. mea culpa.

I am a Grandma as well!!

You would think I would be more understanding and realise, as someone else said, that you were just generalising.

Sorry again.

'tis fine :)

fucking brill idea, would give people who dont already stand and want to the chance.

wondering what our stadium would look like though.

I'm all for the development but would have to agree with an earlier poster who suggested that it should be called by its own name (rather than New Kippax or some such thing).

As said on the longer thread the south stand is too close to the road so leaves no room for expansion. The only stand we could expand is the north, much more room behind and because it was the last stand put in it would be easier to take the roof off here than anywhere else.

Was thinking the same thing,

The North stand went in some time after the rest, seem to remember it was open end for the Commenwealth Games .

Brighter brains than us will be aware of this I`m sure,
