New Kit Deal - Under Armour?

Just as long as we can still get cheap replicas from sellers in China and they look and feel better, then I'm ok with a switch to Under Armor. :)

If there was an easy buy out clause then surely we would have triggered this at least three years ago, or at the very latest before this season started with all the predicted glitz, glammer and hype that this should entail.

If not then someone needs shooting...although if I'm unsure if they will be sponsored by under armour or if they need to buy there own hunting camo from sports direct!?

How many shirts do we sell in comparison to Spurs and Chelsea? From a branding perspective, I think City represents a huge opportunity for every manufacturer given our style of football and squad. However, from memory we don't shift as many shirts as those clubs, which I would imagine is the main driver behind how much Nike et al would be willing to pay us.

I quite like the design of the home and away kits, but not a fan of the stencil approach that Nike seems to apply to most kits at the moment.

It's not all about shirt sales
It's mainly about advertising the brand on television in the biggest competitions, preferably with a winning team

So the people doing the most moaning about the revenue from the Nike shirt deal don't buy the shirts anyway?

Sounds like Bluemoon

I've bought plenty of fucking Nike City shirts since they came in but I'll poke my eyes out before I buy that piece of shit.

Haha. It's not everyone's cup of tea I know. We could do with a better designed kit for next season but I think this year's is OK.

If we could boost shirt sales significantly next season then we would be in a very strong position to renegotatiate with Nike or look elsewhere for a new deal.

By far the biggest piss take with Nike isn't the ridiculous navy sleeves, the annoying blue shorts, or the consistently terrible away kits. It's the fact that since they came in, the quality has gone down, the prices have gone up (a lot) and we don't even get a shirt that resembles the one the players actually wear.

All that money for a fake kit? I'm just surprised they've managed to get away with this swindle for so long. They deserve fucking off for that alone.
