New kit leaked (apparently) (not THAT kit)

For some reason, I get the feeling that Nike will do the exact same kit next season but with a white collar instead of the black collar and a couple of other small changes, white writing instead of black ect (and obviously a Nike badge instead of Umbro).

I think with a white collar it would look a lot better, but its not a complete disaster of a kit that some teams have ended up with. And if you don't like it then just wait for the away kit to come out or don't buy either and wear a shirt from a previous season! Or get the training kit, they're usually quite nice. But I quite like this shirt and lets not forget that we haven't really seen any official pictures released from the club, so its best to wait for these pictures, the official launch and how it looks/feels close up before we make the final decision on whether to buy it or not.

The concern I have with future Nike kits is that, with Umbro, City, and England, are "big fish". We're their flagship brand and, as such, we get specialised treatment and time spent on developing our kit. With Nike we're "just another club".

Put it this way, below are biggest Umbro kit manufacturer deals:-

Rangers
Sevilla
Atl Bilbao
Rubin Kazan
Lille
England
Norway

Now here are the Nike ones:-

Arsenal
Everton
Man Utd
Paris SG
Werder Bremen
Inter
Juventus
PSV
Porto
Zenit
Celtic
Atl Mad
Barcelona
Malaga
Shakhtar Donetsk
France
Holland
Portugal
Brazil

With some of those teams above do you really think City will get any kind of special treatment?

I'm just hoping they don'y try and do anything like a joint kit launch with the rags. Where they are the same kit just different colours.

From your list looks like we are the only ones where they have both teams in the city.

fair point, I'm hoping that we kept our exclusivity clause in our contract and that they let the people who made our Umbro kits make the Nike ones and just stick a Nike badge on for UK distribution and then make a cheaper quality mass produced version for the international market.

Can keep dreaming though, I just hope our club has our interests at heart and says no to shit designs unlike the Rags who'll literally try and sell Rags.

I just hope that the Nike kits keep the cotton material style we have used the last few years and not go back to the Nike synthetic material.

Loved the recent kits mainly because of the material used.

The new one suddenly looks great doesn't it...

Some horrendous efforts. Where's inGavious??

I like the new kit actually.

Sky Blue shirt. Check.

White shorts. Check.

No silly chequered collar insert. Check.

Doesn't look like a lumberjack. Check!

So what if it's got black trim and badge? If they do bring out that black/grey St Marks number as the 3rd/CL kit then it'll all make sense.

Beats last season's baby-grow anyway. Now a classic baby-grow tbf. But still a baby-grow. All it was missing was one of those dummies on a strap. There's a joke in there about Tevez and/or Balotelli but I'll leave that up to someone else.

I've been critical of it, but your comment puts it into perspective mate.

I didn't like the badge at first, but it's grown on me and you could be right with regards to the 3rd st marks kit. Would love that.

Love the retro looking away kit, and if the rumours are true of the 3rd kit being a tribute to st marks, i'd get the away and 3rd over home.
