New Kits 2018/19

City Home Kit

Sky Blue shirt, round collar, white trim on collar and sleeves.
White shorts, sky blue trim, if any.
Sky blue socks with white and/or maroon trim.

City Away Kit

Red and Black vertical stripes, black trim.
Black shorts.
Black socks with red trim, if any.

City Third Kit

White shirt with diagonal sky blue and maroon sash OR red and black sash
White shorts with trim to match sash, if any.
White socks with trim to match sash.

It just is...or should be!

Someone get it sorted. Who has one of those fancy 3D kit programs on their computer?

This. Every year. But with navy socks and white or sky blue and maroon trim.

Italy - “Azzurro" in Italian means "light blue".
Germany - German sports teams often use white as a main colour, as organisations that had been founded prior to 1919 often have chosen the Prussian colours.
Australia - The gold colour represents the golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha), which is Australia's national flower.
Had a Google and apparently we played our first game against and in Scotland and that might be the reason we play in their colours.

I think Italy play in Azzurri blue because that was the colours of the former Royal Family - who incidently now live in exile in Switzerland but do continue to hold ‘ambitions’ of making a comeback.

Personally, I believe the club should follow these guidelines:

HOME:
Sky blue with white trim.
White shorts.
Sky or Navy socks with blue, white, maroon or red (only on navy) trim.

AWAY:
Black and Red stripes, OR Maroon (preferably with pinstripes).
Black OR maroon shorts.
Black and red hooped socks or Maroon socks.

THIRD:
More creative freedom. one for the kids to buy.
Every few years pick a classic city design like a sash or all black.

I will never understand why so many fans on here want Red and Black stripes. It pains me to see City wearing a kit with any red on it, and I can't be the only one as red and black kit sales are always comparatively awful by all accounts. Modern shirts can't have proper stripes in Europe anymore (they have to have a solid colour on the back) so whats the point?

We don't need to pretend to be AC Milan anymore. That period of time may have coincided with some fond memories for some of you old c**** but its not enough of a reason to wear red now in my opinion.

There are loads of options which I would think are more obviously City away kits. My favourite away kit is the White one in the 90s with Navy pin stripes, but Maroon is the obvious option.

I think lots of people hanker for a return to the kits they saw when they first supported the club; so I’m fair and square an old c### for liking the Neil Young special shirt.

That being said I also liked the white with diagonal early 70s kit so maybe a slightly younger c### as well.

I guess if we really wanted to honour our heritage we should adopt the colours from 1894 - showing my ignorance here but what were the kits we had at the start? (However the start is best defined that is)
