Its just awful

Like someone tore the collar out of a tshirt, instantly regretted it and put a button in to hold it together

Sleeves flapping in the wind as Kev stands over a freekick

Look at Foden in it, looks like a child wearing his dads clothes.

Looks alright on Sane with a base layer on.

The pictures of the players wearing it have actually made it look worse than the leaked pictures, when it is usually the opposite. That is how bad it is!

As someone else said, it actually looks like ‘fancy’ surgical scrubs put out by the club for all blues in the medical fields to wear while on the job.

And it is generally getting lambasted (and lampooned) on Twitter—the official unveiling tweet on @mancity is almost entirely “this is horrible” and “this is Nike’s last year, right?” responses.

You can tell they knew few would like it, as well, as they didn’t even bother with a highly produced unveiling or details “leak” campaign. I think City knew it was awful and probably wouldn’t be well received, and so decided to do a very low key release, hoping people would warm to it when they see it on players tonight.

But, as many of us have said, it actually looks even worse being worn.

By the way, check the picture of the “everyday lad” wearing the shirt in the official unveiling tweet—in what universe does the club think any self respecting supporter would wear something that looks that awful? The neck is so big you could likely take the shirt off by pulling it down past your ankles.

 
We had a chance to design the badge,why not the shirt ?,that button looks stupid,like any other kits we have had,they will grow on us like,but initial looks don't look too great

I am fairly sure the one of Sane “wearing the shirt while running on the pitch” is a photoshop job and was actually edited to make the neck and shirt look better. If you look at the other shot of him actually in it (posing for the kit shoot), along with every other player, you see the neck swoops much lower and he looks like a lad wearing his father’s shirt.

That editing tells you everything you need to know about how City thought the shirt would be received.

You are right, most other kits have grown on us over time, but I think this one will be different, as it is not only a bad design, but also doesn’t actually look like it was made for the club (or humans). It is so illfitting, even on professional athletes, it just inherently looks “off”.
 
Fucking hell... I though last season's dark sleeved shirt was the worst I'd see... well done Nike for proving me wrong – that shirt is hideous, awful sleeves, awful button - and overall looks wishy-washy... how can they do a decent kit like this season and follow it up with such utter shite... and more to the point, who at the club signed off on that, it's fucking disgraceful!

It's absolutely hideous but not surprising.

Keeping things simple, attractive and actually City related would mean not changing each kit that drastically so they have to fuck about extremely to make sure people have to buy a different one.

Even worse for Phil and the ‘every lad’ model they have. They couldn’t even be bothered getting sizes that fit any of them for the official kit shoot!

The only person it looks halfway decent on is Izzy and I think that is because 1) it actually fits her, 2) the “swoop” neck is a very common feminine shirt style, 3) there may be some of that pinning they do on shirts at the store that makes you think it is a much nicer fit than it is (then you put it on and realise you could go skydiving in it with no parachute and be fine).
 
Can we get a petition going to get this kit scrapped?....we are going to be seeing this kit till the end of time if we achieve even greater things next season and that is a very scary thought because it is absolutely fuckin awful.
 
It’s one of the worst kits we’ve had for a long time

The sleeves / shoulders and neck are ugly and dark blue socks is just wrong
 
I like to wear my shirts but am saving money by not buying this one. The sleeves ruin it for me.
