NEW Old Labour Party Launch

two weeks in - no name no leader - not happening as they look incompetent because if you knew what you were doing this is all done and decided THEN you go to the press

I suspect it's Corbyns fault. This was my issue with him. Too nice. I suspect he realises the implications of getting 10/15% of the vote. He realises what it will mean for 'Labour' and the country. I suspect he wanted to do nothing more than threaten to run a party and ultimately be brought back into 'Labour'. It's his big flaw. He has NEVER worked out that politics, especially in the modern ownership of politicians format, is brutal. The system, with all its weaponary, came for him personally. He appeased the plotters and slanderers until they eat him. He refused to act, to sue, to fire, to fight. And what did he get in return? Huge swathes of the public thought he was dangerous and the Labour Party was riddled with Antisemitic fck wits. .

Whatever they are doing they are clearly rattling some cages - this WAS the Observers "cartoon of the week" but they have since pulled it off X probably because they, the artist Saffron Swire and her father Tory peer Hugo Swire were all tagged in on X posts to the Met Police reporting it as a racially motivated hate crime - they have all run away

Mick Lynch has been approached.

Knowing him he'd only join if it was credible and and a real political player after the disaster of TUSC.

"Your Party Party"

Into obscurity he goes...

except its not "Your Party" - Ms Sultana has tweeted as such and says a name and policies will be agreed at the upcoming conference but you are invited to sign up to join............ and the website has crashed.

If you wanted to write the definitive guide to how to launch a new Party in an amateurish fashion then this is it.

How many Labour MPs and newly independent MPs join though? Especially as we head towards an election. I’m sure he will do well with it.

I assume the independents will - it'll be interesting to see them have a higher profile.

I can see a few Labour MPs too, as you say, closer to the election - but surely only if they think they have no chance of being re-elected? Apart from Diane Abbot (who I suspect was planning to join) and John McDonell (who I suspect will hold out for the Labour whip), I can't think of any with a 'name' big enough to defeat a Labour candidate.

Even Corbyn lost 10,000 votes last time out, and that took a huge campaigning effort.

Were they attract them then like Reform is becoming a Tory retirement home the Party With No Name as Yet will be the same for expired Labour MP's and as such will struggle. This new Party could have a better chance if it can field candidates that have been properly vetted and can provide a full manifesto to run on then May next year would be their main test to prove they can be worth supporting

Your Party isn’t even the name of the party, it’s the name of the consultation process before they launch the party.

Omnishambles. They’ve killed the whole thing before it’s started by doing it so incompetently.

Starmer wouldn't be bothered if 40 odd moved over.

Gives McSweeney less MPs with a conscious to control and keep them to being 'legal niceties'

Given the fast growth of subscribers what control have they got over insurgents who are not supporters signing up to influence votes?
