went to watch a Question Of Sport on 1st April 1990 with my dad.

It wasnt filmed at The BBC on Oxford Rd it was filmed at a sports centre near platt lane just behind the old toaster building on oxford road.

Bill Beaumount and Ian Botham were captians.

How do i remember the date? As we were driving home my dad turned the radio on and we found out The Strangeways Riots had started!!

I used to know a bloke brought up in the same circles in some Lancashire village as Jovial Billy Beaumont. He said that he was the most miserable, stuck up selfish person you could meet, a real 'don't you know who l am' type.
When you think of Emlyn Hughes, Phil Tufnell and others they have a problem with twats as captain.
A bit like united.

I'm one of those boring old people who rather enjoy the programme. It is light entertainment and relaxing, not many of them about. I always want Matt Dawson to win unless Phil Tufnell has someone who either played for or supports City on his team!!

I have been to the recordings a few times over the years at Media City. A pleasant afternoon/evening out. I know, I'm a bit of a throwback but hey ho!! If we were all alike the world would be a boring place.

I doubt I will watch it after Sue, Matt and Phil leave unless it is Richard Dunne as one Captain and Vincent Kompany as the other Captain!! :-) although then I would have a heck of a dilemma choosing which one to support!!

I was working on a lettuce farm that summer..... with the son of the governor of Strangeways (Brendan O'Friel). Can't remember the lads name though; he wasn't there that long.
