New site launched

as I said earlier I really like the new layout. I'm on a PC with Windows Vista with Google but there was an earlier version of the new look with the various view posts option against a single black line but with "view your posts"
above the ad along with login & User Control etc. This seemed better.

Apologies, another poster (JoeMercersWay, I think) asked for "View your posts" to be moved down to the black bar. Will need to have another think about where the best place for it is.

In the version currently loading the posts all have a big space above them containing poster details on the far right edge. This means unnecessary scrolling and looks strange.

Hmm, that shouldn't be happening. Have you tried refreshing your browser and clearing your cache?

If the problem persists could you possibly send me a screen grab or post one on here? Thanks.

Very nice Ric, throughout. A lot cleaner and modern. Congrats!

Can I ask, the new skin for the forum, is it custom designed by you guys or was it a "premium purchase"?

*nevermind .... know now. here's looking at more months doing mine :(

I had that problem using IE, on chrome the issue is resolved and the poster details is on the left.

I really like the new features on the main page but I am finding this new text in the forum very faint and difficult to get used to.

It does look very good. The only issue I have really is when I'm on any forum board I can't hover over a topic title and see the first line of the OP. Not a huge issue but something I quite liked, is this going to be implemented?

My 2 thoughts:

the Black toolbar I think should be:

Left Hand Side: View New Posts View Active Topics View Unread Posts
Middle: Logout (Username) (0 new messages) User Control Panel
Right Hand Side: View Unanswered Posts View Your Posts .

I think having it all over the page is making it less usable.

And please let us see the start of the OP when we hover over a thread title.

You want all that in 1 toolbar Joe? Remember the stuff you want in the middle (user details) varies in User status (offline/online) and in the length of characters of the username. So having it all in one "div" would make it a nightmare, because it would never stay the same or there would be too much in it. The user details needs to stay independent.

As for the "OP Hover" ... do you have the .js for that? I'd use that on mine, a good idea that ;)

Hi Ric.

As others have posted, nice, clean, and fresh. Looks good. :-)

I have 1 issue.

Posting pictures.

Is there any possibility you can do away with 1 of the 2 tags? Either img or bigimg? Or increase the default img size from 800 to at least 1000?

From a personal point of view it causes me problems.

Anything over 800 and I have to use bigimg. Anyone wishing to view the full size pictures have to click on them twice. Then they have to go back to the post and do the same thing with every other picture. It's a bit laborious.

Sometimes I post the images/pictures on SSC first. They use img for every picture size. I then have to copy and paste the img links on to BM and have to use bigimg instead.

I'd be really grateful if you would considering my request. There's at least another year on the new training Academy site, then there's the South Stand and possible North stand expansions, then there's the Collar site Leisure destination, and finally the Etihad Campus around the stadium. :-)

Thanks.

jrb.
