New striker?

The problem is that because of the dithering with Kane we go into the last week of the window in a position of relative weakness looking to buy players that are probably not for sale. Fake Ronaldo or some other ageing earner someone wants off the books for financial reasons is probably our only option.
Save for Kane and a few others, though, it’s very much a buyer’s market, and we fo have the money to force a deal through even at this late stage . If it is a lesser player, however, he’ll unfortunately be viewed as a disappointment by some before he’s even kicked a ball.

With a high speed mobile front three of Gabby/Mahrez; Sterling/Torres and Foden/Grealish and KDB supplying the bullets we should do fine. Pep just needs to get the right combo. For me that would be a midfield three of Foden, KDB, and Rodri/Gundo supplying Mahrez, Gabby and Grealish. They can all swap places in the usual mind-boggling way which Pep adopts. Let's wait and see.

Nothing to do with “dithering”. Kane was who we wanted but Levy wasn’t having it. There’s nobody else that would enhance our team - who was willing to come (Lukaku wanted Chelski; mbappe wants RM & Haaland is going nowhere at £800k a week)

Ronaldo would but that’s a bit of a media story now the transfer window has died. He’s probably off to PSG to replace Mbappe

We create plenty of chances so even a half-decent recognised striker should do okay and I'll be more than happy if we take a 'gamble' on someone like Edouard and cut out the middle man. We'd get back at least 50% in most cases so if we 'lost' £15 million it would hardly be disastrous. Would still like to see a naturally left sided pace merchant added too
We already have a half-decent recognised striker and Pep would rather play a false nine than play him up front.

So we've lost Sergio, Silva and, by some accounts, Bernardo, possibly Laporte.
We've signed Jacko. Although, admittedly, time running out for the latter two and hopefully they stay
Hard to camouflage this as a great window, especially with rivals strengthening.

Bernado, Torres, Jesus can play false 9 all season as far as I am concerned. Sure, it'll be frustrating - no doubt at times we'll look like Arsenal without Thierry Henry. But we'll do it better.

Now, if we were to lose Bernado... hmmm.

I still think we need a striker even given how effective we are without one. We still both miss chances and miss the opportunity of a good striker being in the right place to convert crosses and penalty box opportunities. If only Kun was 10 years younger. There is nobody in the world just now that could touch him at his peak.

Hope we get a shot at Haaland next season.
