People get we’ll never see Haaland in a city shirt right? I keep reading “we should go all out next summer for him” but it’ll never happen.
No doubting he’s talented but in reality he’s still unproven… Hear me out first before jumping down my throat at that comment. Ok he’s shone in the German league but until he shines somewhere else as well, he’s a prospect still. I’ve no argument he'd more than likely make it and bang goals in for fun, but our league is much much harder.
Add to this the demands of £800k pw, that’s world class Messi esq money and there’s no way he can be put in that bracket right now. In the future without a doubt but not right now no, regardless of how many he bangs in. You earn that wage you don't demand or expect it when still wet behind the ears.
His agent wants a £35m kickback and City will never pay that, we’d not pay half of that! Dealing with Dortmund would be the easy part, but his agent would be all over the show “City offered this” “PSG offered that” “Real feel he’s worth” and both him and the player would just go to the highest bidder despite how good/poor the league is. The French leagues just been voted the 5th best, yet they are pulling in the big names and paying the big wages.
Haaland will move to Real and end up like so many others having struggled to fit in, he’ll look for a move and find he’s priced himself out of one and have to run his contract down. He’ll sign a stupidly long contract with an equally daft £250m+ buyout in it meaning he’s stuck for the duration until some daft club pays it.
I’d love to see him here, I just don’t see the numbers working for us in any way though. If he had his head screwed on he’d be looking for the right move not the best financial move and that’d be to us or Bayern rather than Real/Barça or PSG. But money talks sadly and it’s all about them getting the most they can these days. Utd for example are about to make 36 year old Ronaldo who had excepted £240k pw with us, the richest premier league footballer ever with a £500k pw wage!! let that sink in. and we wonder why agents want silly money for 21 years olds who are not world class yet.
As I say… Never going to happen for his next move unless he listens to his own head instead of his agent promising him crazy wages.
In answer to the question though I’d keep Jesus in this new position and give Torres the chance to get goals, improve his confidence and see how we get on. If we can convince Silva to stay too then we have a great chance. Regardless of a forward coming in or not, we still need others to slip up this season I think, it’s going to be close between 4 teams.

Harry Kane should be considered a done deal. Opportunity missed on both ends. Time to move on.For this summer, I don't think we should go for anyone. Maybe try for Harry Kane in January at a lower fee. For now Torres is good enough. Next summer we should go for halaand or get someone for sure.
He isn't young enough for us to be re-chasing every summer.
