New striker?

Is Ibrahimovich available this season? He'd be an ideal stop gap signing for us as he is a leader, physical, technical and would absolutely finish the chances we create. He'd offer a plan b for some games too.

For the number of chances we create I'd take an old head like Ibrahimovich or even Suarez. Someone who comes on for the last 20 and gets 2 goals.

Of course we need an Aguero replacement but we still need a natural finisher. We need more than 2 strikers.

He hates Pep and he's like a million years old.

I didn't know he hates him!

Yes he's old but he can lead and finish and it's two things we desperately need :)

Let's buy Vardy then. Way more professional, with a much greater work rate and has proven himself to be more than capable to make a difference in the Premier League.

One thing ive always been struck by with Pep is he doesnt do ego's one bit, its all about the team. Zlatan is probably the biggest ego in world football and on that basis alone Pep would go nowhere near him. Plus he's an absolute twat so its a no from me.

Lumpkaku has impressed me every time I've watched him for Inter.
He’d give us a get out of the fukin mess we’ve made for ourselves Option in a game next season. Not once this season have we salvaged a draw out of such a position because our plan b seems to be launch it To the invisible man or to Warwick Davis

Bloody Warwick Davis would probably bury some of the sitters we miss.

Ha.

This is drivel. "We don't need to be more clinical, we score 100 a season".

It doesn't fucking matter if you score 5+ seven times in a season and pump up your total goals if you can't score against Southampton, Spurs, United, Spurs & Wolves when it matters because your forwards miss so many chances.

Almost every game we have lost or dropped points in this season was a result of us conceding after our forwards butchered multiple big chances.

That's what matters, how clinical you are at 0-0 and 1-0. Not how many extra you put past Watford and Villa when they've given up at 4-0.

In relation to this, Sterling scored the opening goal 10 times last season, but did not score a single equalizer or winner. He scored 16 goals that did not affect the outcome of the game (e.g. the fifth in a 5-0 win). 61% of Sterling’s goals didn’t change the result of the game.

Jesus scored 8 openers, 1 equalizer and 4 winning goals, with just 7 “unimportant” goals (35% of his total).

Agüero notched 3 openers, 2 equalizers, 3 go-ahead goals (the goal put City in front but we did not go on to win) and 1 winner, with 8 “unimportant” goals (47%).

For comparison, Kane scored 6 openers, 3 equalizers, 1 go-ahead goal and 2 winners, with 12 “unimportant” goals (50%).

PL and CL games only.

I didn't realise how few of Jesus goals have been irrelevant.

What's Aguero's numbers been previously if you know, I imagine that's the level our forwards ought to be aiming for?

The stat I really want to see, and don't know where to find, is "big chances missed" filtered for 0-0, 1-0 and losing scorelines.

I have a feeling that we'll go from 25% more than Liverpool to over 50%.
