Nothing concrete no, I'll admit that. I think he doesn't want to be here, the whole Raiola situation and the fact it seems like reporters are already seemingly briefed about Nunez and Martinez makes me think it's not a goer for us.

But having the same journalists briefed that we want Haaland too?

I think some blues are just pessimistic of our chances of signing the next big thing. Granted, it's fair enough but I think we have as much chance as any of the elite clubs in Europe.

I haven't seen any credible links to Haaland but plenty for the other players.

Perhaps. We will see.

Christian Falk released an article on our interest of Haaland about a week ago and Jack Gaughan stated the same thing that very day. We want Haaland this summer. Whether it will be possible is another matter but the interest is clear. Fingers crossed anyways!

His goalscoring rate in the youth teams is mental for someone his age. Would be great to get him but you can almost guarantee Dortmund will give him games and sign him to a long term contract. Sadly we don’t have the luxury.
 
I agree with everyone here, we need atleast 2 new strikers plus Delap and Gabriel

Actually Gabriel might even start playing more on the left with time cause it seems he plays better there!

Aguero will not be here next year, his injuries have taken a heavy toll on him. Delap will not start most games until he is 20 or so

So we need 2 strikers. We don't need to look for world class strikers, we can find very good strikers that are under the radar and help them adapt.

One striker needs to be from the Premier League or Championship. Someone who knows the league. Liverpool snatched Jota from Wolves and I personally never saw him mentioned here before.

The other one can be from abroad!

I look back at the days when we had Dzeko, Balotelli, Tevez, Aguero!!!! I can't believe we are down to the bones now! We wasted so much time fixing the defense, we completely forgot about the attack!
 
I would go for Calvert-lewin.....he is young strong good in the air and on the ground. Goalscorer with all type of goals and will only get better. I like Jesus but we need someone's who gets across defenders, I would keep him but not as the main striker
 
The bare facts are that we need another option to convert chances into goals. One of the biggest reasons our usual play type is failing,in my opinion, is that we lack a central threat, defenders don't come out to us and we therefore far too option end up with 11 players trying to work the ball from side to side, which makes us slower. There is no Silva or Aguero playing off the defender, and no pace wide to make that long pass viable (off considering we have sterling and mahrez and Torres who are not slow).

Plus, bagging that first usually alters the opponent's tactics, meaning we don't have to be breaking them down with minutes to go and risk losing points on the counter.

Has to be addressed. Be that Messi, Haaland or another, our team is suffering without a goal scorer.

These same journalists reported that we wanted Alaba. Turns out he did not want to come

Our executives are bit arrogant, so they have this false sense of optimism, so they brief optimistic stuff to trusted journos. They even briefed these same journos that we were optimistic of getting Messi in the summer, despite everyone knowing the clause issue with Barca.

This same Falk that said Sane would never play in CS match?

I know you want Haaland but that shouldnt make these journos in your head any better.

We have seen the amount of crap they report and it gets worse each year.

The club wanting someone and the player wanting to come to us are two very different things. They’re not necessarily wrong by saying that we wanted him

Jack Gaughan is as reliable as they come. The fact the reports came out the same day was a clear indication that it was briefed.
 
I’m watching Benfica right now again. It still boggles my mind that Nunez could be seriously considered by us. He might score in a minute, but he’s so weak. SO WEAK. He wouldn’t be good enough for a Southampton with all due respect
 
We need a striker with a presence in the box. Jesus works hard off the ball, his link play is great and I thought his best performance came on the left vs Madrid. But he isn’t natural goal scorer, he spends too much time coming short to find the ball rather than just waiting in and around the box
