Glory hunters are just vermin, end of.

Sad bastards with no moral fibre so they choose to 'support' whoever is winning things.

Blue, red or green, it doesn't matter to me, they're filthy scumbags and we don't want or need them.

When we do get them, I won't think of them as Blues, I'll think of them as a complete joke to society and laugh in their shithouse faces...we've been ridiculing United for having these morons supporting them, so why can't we ridicule our own glory hunters?

Most of us have been going home and away in the lower divisions and watching garbage for years...so what gives these people the right and who do they think they are to just come along, bang £400 down and say 'Hello, I'm a Manchester City fan and I found this club when they got rich, hell, I didn't know there was more than 1 club in Manchester 5 years ago!'

Sorry for the rant and if I've offended anyone, but it's just the way I feel

Stay away.

No problem, you haven't offended me. I've been coming since I was a young lad. Been to the Wycombe Wanderers on a wet night in January and lost, been to Swindon Town, Port Vale and the other shit houses. Your opinion pal and your entitled to it, It wont stop me coming to the games or supporting City. But I also don't wanna see untold City shirts all over the place it isn't right if they haven't been through the dark, desperate days like 'we have'. ;-)

You can allways tell a veteran blue by the
hangdog wore out look and the hunched shoulders

Nice one Blue ;-/

im a new supporter, moved to manchester almost ten years ago. saw first game in 2003, even then, city were a big team to me. yes when i was a kid buying the sticker albums city were in there. you had a few dark years, but some of you lot don't have a fucking clue. most, have nver seen their team in top flight football, and prob never will. your so loyal, quite right, but you always knew you would eventually make it back, and have enjoyed more success than most supporters. having the other manc team, really seems to effect they way alot of 'old' supporters think, even before the sheik came, you had an amazing stadium, were playing in europe and were an established premiership team. how many of us are from stockport, bury, oldham etc, but if you come from further away your a glory hunter , fuck off.

also i know no person who starts supporting man u, chelsea etc as adults, they become 'glory hunters' when they were kids. btw, at footie practise for under 6s yesterday in reddish, red shirts out numbered blue by almost 4to 1. find me someone over the age of 16 in the uk who has decided to support city this year outside of manchester.

At first, I kind of took offense to threads like this. I am a new fan, and was drawn to City a few years ago for a number of reasons...this team promotes the best soap opera drama a sports fan can hope for. Whether it be the drama with Frank, or the take over by HH Mansour, or pipping Tevez from rags, ... the list is endless.

You know who does like us new fans? The merchants, the people I have drank with, the people I attended the matches with, and most importantly, the ladies of Manchester! I have noticed at least two things on my visits to Manchester. The women of Manchester are gorgeous, and these ladies love American accents. So if it comes down to some anonymous person with an attitude against those he does not deem to be true fans on a forum I enjoy, or all the Mancunians I have met at Sinclair's, Townley, Mary D's, etc., deciding if I will commit my unabashed loyalty to City, I choose the latter. See y'all this fall (coming over for Blue Dippers in September, Red Dippers at Anfield in November, and rags in April). Let's have a pint, sing songs, and create history with a team we all love. Cheers!

There are lot more of Liverpool glory hunter worldwide still waiting for their glory to come outnumber City glory hunters nowadays.
It makes me wonder why they not jump ship or once they jump to the wrong ship they cannot turn themselves to support others.
I think this is how football always be. once you support a team, there is glory or empty you cannot turn your back on your team.

Just moved back from New Zealand (not much interest there yet, unfortunately), and staying in a village halfway between Wrexham and Chester at the moment. A lad i met is a primary school teacher nearby, and he says there's a few more sky-blue shirts being worn by the kids in the last couple of years... Liverpool, rags still more popular, and Chelsea funnily enough, which goes to show once again nearness-to-club doesn't matter when you're successful.

I think this thread would only be an issue if we had won the prem 2-3 times, and had done well in the champions league. The vast majority of glory hunters in this country follow the rags, and the next i would say is Liverpool.

We have won the F.A cup and achieved a place in the champions league for the first time in our history. We are at the beginning of what i'd like to think of as a long and successful chapter in the Clubs history,if that we're to draw glory hunting fans, then so be it.At least like most on here,i can say i was there when we we're shit!

Even Stevie Wonder could see what was happening to us after the take over, just give a few the chance to say they supported us before titles etc. :)

Lived in Hertfordshire all my life and I can honestly say that there are just as many blue shirts here as there were about 5 years ago - one. Mine. Actually, I'm being harsh. By pure coincidence my neighbour is a blue and I once saw a girl walking through town with a training top on. About three years ago. It's taking its sweet time here though.

Gotta give credit where credit is due though. In my office, there are a goodly number of non-PL fans and at least in the department I work in they outnumber the glory hunters. Stevenage, Luton, Watford, Spurs fans all over. Barely any rags or Arsenal fans and I don't think I've met a single Chelsea/Liverpool fan.

Who cares, more supporters means more income which is what football is all about these days! if you go to the games you will have more points than them, so they will not take your seat! The more the merrier as far as I am concerned?

Right on! What he said!

Especially with the financial fair play rules coming in.

Welcome to all our far east, African and Arab blues.

Isn't this a bit hypocritical,

We turn around and call United fans glory hunters without even knowing them, yet we are complaining about people doing that to us. Then we call United fans glory hunters if they are not from Manchester yet then turn around and say I hate when people say I'm a glory hunter cause I don't live in Manchester..

Not trying to be a plonker but...bit odd I thought.

My opinion is you can't judge someone until you know them and their story and if people want to support us from all over the country then so be it, happy to have em, as long as they are genuine supporters and not just jumped on cause of the money and stars.....which some like that are inevitable i suppose, unavoidable really.

In the past, being a city supporter meant taking nothing for granted, staying optimistic despite successive relegations, learning to be stoic about typical City meltdowns and so on. In other words having a kind of generosity of spirit that went beyond whether you won or lost.
But any resentment of new fans just seems to go against that spirit if you ask me. The club is achieving more than anyone could have hoped for. Part of becoming a global club is accepting you have to share your club with other people (even people who might not be so "deserving"). Personally the idea of new fans pulling on a City shirt makes me swell with pride, regardless whether they're in Moss Side, Ghana, or even *gasp* London.
