New supporters/interest in City.

I went back to my home town St Ives the Cambridgeshire one. Had my City shirt on and saw 4 City fans bearing in mind this is a town of about 10,000 people i was quite impressed as the rest just blindly follow the shite in trafford

This thread makes me wonder who are considered the best 'big club' fans.

I would like to suggest that as new supporters come in (which i'm part of if you look at my earlier post) the older flock should really educate them on our history and give them a sense of pride in each of our accomplishments. You know, teach them to be good fans and love city warts and all.

there's 2 guys that sit directly in front of me at COMS,got talking one day, their from Carlisle and have been going since we moved stadiums,i asked one of em if they follow Carlisle, his response was.......'fuck that, their shit'.
pretty sad IMO,anyone could do what they've done by hijacking a Premiership club

I live in Wrexham never see any City shirts here, none of the major sports shops sell them, loads of plastic rags though, my first visit was in 1968 at Maine Rd v WBA, my dad was a City fan and would allways take me on my birthday as a treat, I use to get loads from kids at school when I would be the only one in a City shirt, Colin Bell was god and still is, you will without doubt start seeing young kids in shirts the more successful we get, don't see this as a problem, the more the better.

the first football kit i had bought me was a wrexham kit (when i was about 4 from the charity shop.. we were skint)

i live in shaw, and i barely see any city tops about.

In Kelowna BC Canada here. I have only seen 1 other City supporter on here and I met one in a grocery store here a week before the FA Cup. I prefer it this way as I dont want to see an influx of new fans after all this past season.

Everyone here jumps on the United or Chelsea bandwagon and makes me wanna be sick. They can all stay there.

Hoping that the friendly in Vancouver doesnt bring out a bunch of new fans round here.

A bit precious, you are... Are you 'The Only Blue in the Village'????
I hope the friendly in Vancouvr gets loads of youngsters into City and good luck to 'em !!

-- Thu Jun 23, 2011 11:55 am --

Glory hunters are just vermin, end of.

Sad bastards with no moral fibre so they choose to 'support' whoever is winning things.

Blue, red or green, it doesn't matter to me, they're filthy scumbags and we don't want or need them.

When we do get them, I won't think of them as Blues, I'll think of them as a complete joke to society and laugh in their shithouse faces...we've been ridiculing United for having these morons supporting them, so why can't we ridicule our own glory hunters?

Most of us have been going home and away in the lower divisions and watching garbage for years...so what gives these people the right and who do they think they are to just come along, bang £400 down and say 'Hello, I'm a Manchester City fan and I found this club when they got rich, hell, I didn't know there was more than 1 club in Manchester 5 years ago!'

Sorry for the rant and if I've offended anyone, but it's just the way I feel

Stay away.

No problem, you haven't offended me. I've been coming since I was a young lad. Been to the Wycombe Wanderers on a wet night in January and lost, been to Swindon Town, Port Vale and the other shit houses. Your opinion pal and your entitled to it, It wont stop me coming to the games or supporting City. But I also don't wanna see untold City shirts all over the place it isn't right if they haven't been through the dark, desperate days like 'we have'. ;-)

So you have to be of a certain age or 2nd generation Blue to qualify ????

No one told ne there was a new entrance exam ???

Not really seen any massive upsurge in interest in North East. All the people contacting who wish to join branch I've known beforehand. Think I'll start getting emails and calls over next few years wanting to join OSC up here...I'll just charge them double !!

Just been down to the store at the ground - got out of the car and three japanese lads just going in the shop - one wearing a Rag shirt and another a Chelski... fuck me, is this what we're gonna attract now!?!
