New supporters/interest in City.

I'm a season ticket holder living down in London. I went to oxford street the other day to get my new phone and there were fake city shirts being sold on market stalls. Haha

My grandad was in Burma as well, scots guards and he would not be impressed, especially when they made him build a bridge and fed him sushi.

I'm not sure it matters "why" someone starts watching City -- if it means their children support City ... and maybe their children's children after that ... then I think it can only be a good thing.

I've brought-up my 3 kids to follow City (even though (almost) all their friends follow United and tease them endlessly), and I think that's what really matters long-term, because very very few people change allegiances in later life ... so if the kids follow City now, they'll stay City fans even if at some point in the future the worst happens (the Sheikh leaves, we get relegated, etc).

What really matters at the moment are the kids. We lost a generation to united. Are we reversing that trend yet? I don't know, anyone with kids in Manchester schools?

Good post, Plus kudo's to the parents that kept the blue supporters coming through the hard times, i know some kids wouldnt have it any other way, but i'm sure there were plenty who needed their arms twisted.

Must be 9/10 yrs ago my 2 lads (They were 9 + 4 at the time) wanted to support the Scum after several minutes of strained silence they asked their mum why dad wasn't talking to them - Mum replied " You said some dirty words (United/support) - Needless to say both are mad City supporters now and hate the scum with a vengeance like me

Don't forget, for every 10 additional fans who buy a shirt, that's one more Mario Balotelli parking ticket we can pay for, or one more Pablo Zabaleta gash we can stitch up.

Here in the USA, I see a significant deference to the fans who have been on the terraces week in and week out for a long time... but the fans here sacrifice their time and money and have to face up to the superior numbers of United, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea supporters in the pub every week. It still means something to choose City, and there's room for everyone.

It's true we are outnumbered 50 to1 here. The pub I go to here in San Francisco is owned by a blue but like I stated in an earlier post is used by the Northern California Arsenal Supporters to watch matches. When we play them there will be maybe 10 or so blues and about 100 of them. Actually we played them this last season in a mid week match and I was the only blue there. Our hope is that as we continue to win we will get more support and can meet them on equal footing on match day.
