Mercenary maybe but WTF , the game has changed.
A big game world class player
Never never forget that semi goal against the rags and plenty more to come.
The days if Dave Conner and Mick Doyle one club players are long gone
Money talks
Agreed mate.
This is the world we live in and like it or not we have to support our team in the here and now.
Supporters of other teams have it much worse! There must be many old established clubs where the whole team would bugger off somewhere else given half a chance.
In general terms the changes we have seen since 2008 have given us the sort of pull enjoyed by the rags, Arsenal and Liverpool and we should be glad of it. That said there will always be someone who is unsettled or is being unsettled by his agent. We saw our first trophy in years lifted by a guy who everyone knew wanted out of the club, better that than not lifting it at all I say.
This latest trouble was a product of an agent wondering if one more big move was possible for his player, meaning one more big fat cheque for the bloodsucker of course. At first YaYa distanced himself from what his agent said but then no doubt was instructed to do a 180 turn and back him up.
It must have become apparent over the summer that no club would buy him out of the remainder of his contract and pay him the wages City do, so time to backtrack again.
YaYa had a poor world cup, he looked like he had put weight on and he looked knackered, he was a poor advert for himself. Maybe his agent will back off now and go looking for his next cash cow instead of trying to milk this one. I was disappointed Ya Ya didn't tell him to shut up in the first place but they place their carreer in someones hands and have to go with the flow I guess.
If nothing else happens and YaYa starts the season with us and wears our shirt, he has my full support.
