New years eve

Happy new year to everyone. Currently staying in hotel due to issues with our plumbing and no water. Been here since Sunday and just extended stay to Saturday (at least). Way things are going not sure if my wallet or liver will give up first. Potentially a bill of up to £3k
doesn't sound like much fun but at least you'll have a NYE to remember ! I hope you're covered by insurance

Cheers, yea been in touch with insurance, once new tank etc fitted need to lift hall floor to check damage underneath that due to flooding

I’ll do my usual and go to bed as me and mrs can’t be doing with all the wankers letting off fireworks . Place about 30 mins away from us is full of Roma gypsies and a lad I know caught on then sat in street having a shit . Fucking dirty low life parasites will be all out celebrating another free fucking year in the good old uk .

It's an absolute monsoon here at the moment and some people started letting off fireworks already? It will go on for half a fucking hour at midnight even is it's still pissing down. I often wonder where they get the money from, I'm talking about huge loud rockets with multiple bursts, they must be at least a couple of hundred quid each?
They prob let them off as it’s already new year in their country .

I wish, they'll be firing up at midnight , they always do. TBH I don't mind it that much on NYE or Nov 5th but we rarely go a week without some arseholes letting off loads of fireworks for no apparent reason and it's always after 11 which is illegal.

My last "new" year as a "worker", been partially retired for about 5 years, but giving up completely in the summer after 46 years, and finally moving back north, after spending most of my life as a bit of a nomad due to work in various places, laterly mostly near london.

Can't wait to be back in the Manchester area again, after leaving for northern Scotland in 1981, with stints in Germany, and southern Scotland as well, even briefly in Shetland.

A life without the M6/M1, or avanti trains to get to matches, hopefully just a local train or bus.
