Riiiight...Well technically you’re correct. NYE used to be 31st March hence why our tax year starts April 5th and where April fools comes from - anyone who hadn’t settled their tax by end of the year (1st April) was a fool.

Doubt there'll be too many on the beach at Blackpool come midnight.I'm in Tenerife which makes nights like these a bit more bearable. I'm not a youngster these days so getting hammered isn't my thing, though obviously I'll have a few. I like the fact you can walk about from bar to bar, though most are extremely busy. A lot are also charging and have become ticket only on NYE, something that didn't really happen when I first started coming over twenty years ago. Part of that is to keep the travellers out too. The highlight of the evening is watching the fireworks on the beach at midnight.
