Enjoyed the game last night. Also the fact you could walk from one end to the other was great as well.

Is it possible for the mods to do a sub forum like the EDS for the other teams in the CFG. Maybe call it City Football Forum. Then we can have New York, Melbourne, MCWFC and maybe even a thread for Yokohama F Marinos in there?

MCFCW yes, the others can stay in General Football as they aren't part of our club, we are just individual clubs owned by the same group. We arent fans of the group we are fans of our club.

Well this is in the Bluemoon forum in case you hadn't noticed. As is the Yokohama one.

Well I am a fan of the Club and Group. I don't speak for anyone else, so please don't speak for me.

I suppose I can see both sides to this.

I’m genuinely curious as to how New York City will progress in the MLS and I’m thinking of traveling over for a couple of fixtures. I like the kit and as it’s a different league I don’t see a clash of interests.

On the other hand if they lose I will probably be distraught for about 15 seconds and then turn over to watch the real Typical City, the Chicago Cubs.

In contrast, if City lose nowadays it's like a dagger through the heart.

At the end of the day there’s a Bluemoon Forum and a General Forum.

Perhaps, we could also have a City Group Forum?
Then again, I'm not particularly bothered.

Re: New York City

A good relationship with NYCFC would be good for both clubs if we move on from the Lampard thing.

Allowing us both to exchange young players on loan, NYCFC getting to train in Europe, and promoting MC in the US.

Only problem I see is that some of the NYCFC fans are part time rags or rentboys and would hate for that.

I don’t think it’s as simple as that, especially when a former Chelsea legend starts playing for New York City. Similarly you’ll probably have Spanish nationalists preferring New York Red Bulls and Catalan sympathisers worshipping David Villa.

It can work the other way as well.

I made a similar point a few weeks ago, but if you study the history of the Chicago Cubs you won’t find another team in world sport with more in common with the old Typical City. I want New York City to succeed, but there’s not a cat in hells chance of me switching to the Yankees.

how on earth are the cubs and city similar?the cubs have been one of the most commercially successful teams, but haven't performed, they haven't won in over 100 years, and have a stadium filled with tourists with no knowledge of the team , or the sport for that matter. outdated bathrooms are pretty much the only similarity.

Re: New York City

What do you think about NYCFC's signings? (except Villa, SOunders and Lampard). What players are they and how did they play at Mini-Had? Judgung by where and how many have they played, I'd say they all are s..t, except this norwegian player from the USA national team

I would also like to see a NYCFC/CFA forum, I have been following the development of the team a lot recently and I'm hoping to keep up to date with their games. Went to the game against St Mirren and they were fantastic considering it was the first ever proper game.

How difficult is it to read a full paragraph?

I said the Cubs had more in common with the old Typical City than any other team. I wasn’t referring to the commercial aspect of either club.

Perhaps you’ve forgotten, (although your use of the word bathroom suggests that you might be American and not aware) that City were once renowned for self inflicted farce and how our fans were admired for stoicism and good humour despite a major trophy drought.

Have you ever heard of the phrase Typical City because your sneering and totally inaccurate portrayal of the Cubs fanbase indicates otherwise.

The Cubs are known as the Loveable Losers, but City have experienced dozens of Steve Bartman moments.

There really is no American analog to City. Cubs fans lack the passion, creativity, and guile of "typical City". They both wear blue and they've both lost a lot, but that's about where it ends.
