New York City FC

A nice lad and actually not a bad player, Jeb Brovsky.

Paddy had Iraola on the bench... Wtf
The 2nd choice, RJ ALlen, is injured.

Jeb the left back? If so he was diabolical every time I saw him

Saw a bit of today's game in between all the mothers day stuff. Fuck me new york/our defending is absolutely comical. They were 1 on 1 over and over again in that first half. Either the left back switching off and playing everyone on side for the goal or the centre halves miles apart and Chicago players running straight through. Not sure how much use pirlo is in that team because he isn't the player he once was and with them all charging round like dickhead booting the ball to the opposition to the and style which he tries to play the game doesn't fit. Glad to see them get the win though, but fuck me, so much work to do with that defence

Didn't NYC wear Nike kit last year? Thought our tie-in with Nike would mean all teams in the group wearing Nike gear.

No he didn't. Iraola was injured.

First MLS game I've watched and it was very enjoyable to watch but round about Thai league 2nd division in terms of quality.

In fairness it was MLS' equivalent of Villa v Newcastle this season, but right at the start of the season when the malaise hasn't set in yet.

No they didn't. MLS has a group contract which says all teams must wear Adidas.

Never really watched an MLS game before but caught about 40mins last night, fucking hell it was great to watch some of the defending was worse than watching Otamendi, Mangala and Kolarov

It was Viera though who bought that french centreback Brillant for targeted allocation money (that is golden in MLS), kept hernandez, signed another central midfielder - Bravo, which must've eaten Allocation money too and refused to loan our youngsters.

Btw, This move in Nyc for both pirlo and lamps was idiotic itself at the start when the rumours appeared, but their fans hadn't realized it until the club didn't make it to play-offs... Seems like the approach is similar amongst cfg?;)

They have the strongest centre midfield in MLS with McNamara, Poku, Mix and Jacobson, and now an add-on, another american Mikey Lopez, who played the 1st half vs us in summer 2014 for Kansas btw. He is smth like a cheap (and not that good ofc) copy of Verratti. So they just need to get rid of these two DPs, and, ffs, forget about signing casilias and any other needless oldstars and get a proper cb; the other one can come on loan from EDS again (Facey was their best defender last season). And use the 3rd Designated Player spot for a more top-class player who's not in his 30s, for the position the team would need a signing at. Probably it would be a striker or and a winger position.

For anyone wondering why they haven't taken any of our youngsters on loan, it could be because they don't have any spare international spots in their squad after the signing of a Colombian striker on loan:

I'm not sure whether or not they could "acquire" any more international spots to accommodate a loan for any of the youngsters that Vieira thinks would benefit him. Maybe he's waiting a few weeks into the season to see which positions he wants to add depth? *cough* defence *cough*

The MLS has got to be the most expensive league to follow your team in? Almost every game requires a flight. Must have to be unemployed too considering Americans only get 2/3 weeks holiday a year

The way it is in all sports. The only sport that has a travelling fanbase is College Football (American) and they are mainly retirees. Country is too big. The upside is that our television coverage is the best in the world. I live in the states and have better access to televised City games than folks living in Manchester.
