Newcastle 1-1 City post match thread

Manchester City Manuel Pellegrini: "I am happy. We started winning the game but we could not have the control after that. We knew that it was very tough."

That why you are getting fucked off.

You can be happy with your point against Newcastle when you are managing a mid table side like Everton next season. Clown.

Annoying game to watch, not the kind of performance we should be seeing at this stage of the season.

I'd like to see the stats for this season where Yaya and Kolarov have started the same game... their "can't be assed running" attitude spreads throughout the team. Yaya keeps trying to do the same run with the ball past 2-3 players when he's on the half way line no thought to the fact our defense will push the back line up as the ball moves forward. If Kolarov doesn't have the pace then he needs to have spot on positioning and reading of the game and he's bloody terrible at both at times, square on to a player who is obviously looking to knock it past him at any moment, casually turning his back on the ball before receiving it and then losing the run of it or having an awful first touch, delaying a pass till he has no options to pass to. Zab has lost some pace but he's never seen wanting for effort, never sherks a tackle, always willing to put himself on the line for the team.

Also it annoys me that despite being considered a tall physical team, we never win challenges in the air much, our players just feint going for the ball and don't even jump most of the time . Add to that that our own players who should know this keep opting to play a long looping high ball to a player who's not in space and that's where a lot of their breaks come from.

For walking back in a 2 v 7 situation? You gotta be joking. They all played poorly.

He did the same a couple of seconds before Pelle took him off....Dont have the stats to hand but would love to know how many tackles he made and how many completed passes......I agree tho mate.....they all had a bad night tonight and none of us fans should be able to defend any of the players.....difficult to understand how they can play so well at weekend and then put out one of the worst games of the season, just a few days later......it looked like they almost didnt care

Thought it was a fair enough result we obviously saving some in the tank for the CL game and not trying to get anyone injured.

It's a relief Aguero and de Bruyne came out of it unscathed.

So why didn't we play Manu Garcia, Kelechi and maybe one or two more kids that would have worked their socks off? A traffic cone would have been more effective than Yaya. Van Gaal's been doing it and one of his "finds" scored a winning goal against us. Klopp's been putting whole second teams in and been getting ok results.

Fucking hell. 20 minutes after a month out.

Some people are desperate to make this all about Sterling.
Gets the ball out wide with acres of space to run into, cogs start whirring "what shall I do? Ah yes I will turn back towards my own goal trip up and give them a chance to attack!".

He is useless.

Biggest issue was 0 hold up play. That is why we need Silva/Nasri. Yaya could do it but he ate too much cake yesterday.

I think there is a lot in what you've said there, but its a poor excuse.

We should probably have lost the game, though Newcastle were also poor, lets not forget that. It was a very poor game, but De Bruyne should have wrapped it up soon after the offside goal.

Newcastle were terrible up until we gave them the goal and then proceeded to stand off them - bit harsh to blame de bruyne for us not winning, i think Joe Hart saved us a couple of times too - we were lucky to get the draw.

Pellegrini won't give a shit and he'll no doubt say it was a good point in the circumstances which i completely disagree with. I bet Pep wouldn't be so apathetic
