Disgraceful performance by every outfield starter today except Fernandinho. But special mention to Mahrez and Mendy.. the latter put in possibly the worst left back performance I’ve ever seen by a city player. Both have had enough chances now... get rid

Mahrez is not a winger. When he was at Leicester he had a free role behind the striker. Given we don't play like that not sure why we bought him.

So unless we change the manager I'd be inclined to move him on.

Bernardo after he came on, and Sterling didn't do any better out wide.

Thing is if Sterling had put his foot through that chance at the end we'd have all been saying what a 2nd half. I thought we were OK in the 2nd half. Newcastle defended well and got lucky going forward. 2 shots, 2 goals.

I'd take a punt on Mitrovic in Jan, we are soft as shit and too easy to play against.

I doubt it will happen but Sergio needs pressure to perform at his best, he knows Jesus is nowhere near the level required so I think subconsciously he's relaxed. Cant fault his work rate against Chelsea though.

under Mancini we had 4 strikers and could play a number of combinations, Dzeko was infuriating at times but knew where the goal was and could win more than his fair share of high balls.

what really worries me is watching us float balls into a packed box full of 6ft 5 defenders and we wonder why our midget strikers are doing nowt with it.

if we improved our chance conversion by 20% the defensive issues cease to be a factor

I’ve never been shy about being critical of Hart but he used to have a handful of ‘wow’ matches each season as a rule. Ederson is tidy but he’s not pulling UK trees this season, so far.

if the rest of the team do there job properly he doesnt need to.....for what Pep asks of keepers he is doing fine. He had very little chance with either goal today.

PEP It's what we've lived the last four years. We found a way and today, we found it again but unfortunately, at the end, we conceded a goal We could not score all the chances we had; they scored the two chances they had. Sometimes it happens.

We have to accept it, work on strengths and learn from it. It’s tough but we have just two days to recover. In good moments, be calm. In bad moments, live these kind of moments.

I’ve never been shy about being critical of Hart but he used to have a handful of ‘wow’ matches each season as a rule. Ederson is tidy but he’s not pulling UK trees this season, so far.

Barring one of the goals against Spurs I think he started the season amazingly. Saved us at least two points against Palace. Since the fuck up against Southampton his shot stopping hasn't returned to form and his distribution has gone a bit iffy over the last few games.

Gundo is poor in attacking mid
Angeliño isn’t good enough
Cancelo doesn’t look particularly great
Stones had come back in great form but made a mistake today

The whole squad bar two players are underperforming (so everyone can stop with singling out individuals right away!)

Also VAR is fucking us over regularly and is having a psychological affect. It’s taken the stuffing out of us I reckon.

Pep is not working out the right formula to combat all of the above.

Ederson and Fernandinho have been brilliant but that’s about it.

We need a lift. We need something like Pep to say he’s staying longer and sign a new extended deal or Sané to do the same.

if the players felt like me at the end of last season, I was knackered after that and I was only watching !. I haven't felt the same intensity in myself yet this season, I just feel doesn't matter how well City play that the system will make sure we don't win the league this year . VAR etc being screwed over almost every week , if I cant quite get going this season perhaps the players are struggling to get going. Last season took a lot out of me just being a fan !, perhaps it took more out of the players than the management were expecting. So yes I think we all need a lift.
