Newcastle (A) Post-Match Thread

Good performances although we have this inability to not kill teams off at the moment. First half dominance should have game dead and buried rather than give them a sniff. Thought Jesus led the one well, constant menace throughout with his running. Sterling had a better second half, whole team looked a lot sharper as well. Question is though, is Pep taking the piss out of Sane, I think he might be.

Terrific performance and job done, slightly frustrating at our inability to convert more of our chances.

Lots of very good performances particularly the midfield.

Pathetic from Carroll and Joelinton, couple of ****s.

I’ve really got a feeling that young Phil is going to be difficult to keep out of the starting 11 next season. Every game now he just looks like he belongs in that company.

Comfortable win made more so by our quick passing and Newcastles complete reluctance to attack until the second half (and even then that was limited and them pouncing on mistake by Ottomendi).

Walker, Silva KDB Sterling and Foden when he came on were all very good,

Newcastle were woeful and there is a huge amount of work to do if/when their takeover happens.

We were breathtaking to watch at times but if we don't kill teams off we always have a Gale moment in us. I was slightly worried how nervy we started to look under any sort of pressure from a poor Newcastle side. They were clogger's, Carroll and Linton in particular.

Up front we need a different type of striker, fast and more robust, physical. Gabby works hard but he is easily marked out of the game. Aguero has that balance but where do you find another Aguero?
