I think the second half and game as a whole had more issues than Phillips.

Second half we faded, probably too many players lacking fitness from lack of game time at this sort of level.

Think he thought he was on championship duty (usually is) and the geordies were playing up a level, Not a single mention of how young our team was, average age was insane. Newcastle going full Arse-Dip community shield, it’s round 3 ffs! Anyhow we’re well out of it this season, bigger fish to fry with a tonne of injuries to manage, nice to get minutes in Jack & Kova and the fringe players

Newcastle were shit. They ran about a lot, were very physical, capitalised on some poor defensive errors by City. The crowd got up for it, they didn't play any football to speak of and we were disjointed and fielded a weakened team.
Glad we've gone out of this competition with hopefully no injuries.
Sky are an abomination.
