Actually this story might have some legs although I heard a similar story.

The story I heard was that the Sheikh was in a bar in New York having a few sherbets, as you do, anyway his business partner introduced him to a Geordie who asked the Sheikh if he fancied buying Newcastle.
Apparently the Sheikh turned round and said "Why would I want to buy that useless load of shite"

I dunno which story I believe to be honest.
