Show the guy some sympathy, as a Rangers and Newcastle fan he gets a double dose of Mike Ashley and a double dose of delusion.

Not saying it's true, but make of it what you will....
I was in Manhattan Saturday night at a birthday party for a friend of ours. One of the girls brought her new boyfriend, a Banker.
Turns out the guy is British and we get talking soccer. He finds out I am an NYCFC guy and he brings up Sheikh Monsour.
Turns out he was the Sheikh's banker in England and became friendly with the Man City folks. He was invited to watch the France/England Euro 2012 game with a group of Man City folks, the Sheikh included.
So he sits down and starts watching and the Sheikh starts asking him who he supports and why. The guy says he is a Newcastle supporter. The room stops and everyone looks quizzically at him. The Sheikh prods him and wonders why, with all the clubs in England to support, he chose Newcastle (this guy was originally from Belfast and a Rangers supporter as well). He said that Newcastle was the one club in the Premier League, more than any other, where the team symbolizes the blue collar nature of the town. Good or bad, St. James is full every weekend. They live and die for their squad, and despite Sunderland being a rival, Newcastle is all for Newcastle United. The fans would jump through fire for their team.
So the Sheihk looks around and goes, "We should have bought Newcastle."
He didn't say that because he thinks they made a mistake. The moral of the story is that CFG is 100% invested in their fans. They want the best fans and they want their fans to be proud of the product on the field.
I couldn't be happier to be part of the CFG.

I heard rumours years ago when ADUG first bought City that they were looking at Newcastle and also Everton, but this was just rumour.
Who knows...

He then got on the bus before mine...but when I boarded my bus he was at the very next stop...he had got off his bus to work to get on the one I was on....
I thought maybe he was upset that Sheikh Mansour had bought us, because he looked very flustered...
Turns out that wasn't the problem....he asked me why I was wearing a pink tshirt...because I must either be "gay or proper handy".
I think that's the main reason Mansour bought us - we can tolerate a pink tshirt on a man!
I've heard he's a proper handy gayBlue Mist said:BlueSkyBlue said:I was in Newcastle at the weekend and big guy at a bus stop gave me the whole history of "how the Sheikh wanted to buy Newcastle, but Ashley didn't turn up" blah blah

Hang on..... he got on a bus and sat thinking 'that man had a pink t shirt on' so got off again and got on yours just to ask you why you were wearing it !
I thought our lot were weird but Jeez.
Oh by the way which are you, Gay or proper handy ?
Just askin'
Mansoor bin Zayed bin Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, or Sheikh Mansour for short, must still surely regret the day he chose Manchester City and not Newcastle United.Strong rumours at the time of his purchase of Manchester City and since then, have reported that he had also looked at a number of other Premier League clubs including Newcastle United and Everton.
Maybe our luck as Newcastle fans was that he simply came along a year too late, twelve months after Mike Ashley had got a tight grip on us. So after spending the equivalent of a small nation’s GDP on his new football club and buying Premier League & domestic Cup success, as well as regular Champions League football, you’d expect the support from City fans would be overwhelming. However, while a quite mental crowd of 51,886 was there to see a previously winless Newcastle battle it out with Leicester on Saturday, Manchester City’s recent Champions League match at the Etihad attracted a crowd of only 37,509.
Faced with such a lack of support, Sheikh Mansour’s people have slashed ticket prices for their final Champions League home match to only £12.50 for adults. Yes, if you want to go to that match (for some bizarre reason if you are a Newcastle fan…) then the vast majority of seats are available for £25 for two tickets. Plus, anybody who had already committed to a ticket before this decision was made, will also get an extra ticket if they get in touch with the club.
When I look at the apathy of the City fans compared to the fifty thousand mugs still turning up at our place despite all the absolute rubbish thrown at us on and off the pitch, it does make you feel like either banging your head off a brick wall or crying, or maybe both. On top of all this though, Sheikh Mansour is pressing on with ground expansion that could eventually see the Etihad hold 61,000 – the simple question must be why?
While many people deride (in many cases rightly) the Manchester City owner for buying success and so on, Sheikh Mansour has spent fortunes on infrastructure and youth development, as well as supporting non-football specific projects in depressed areas of Manchester. Just imagine what that could have done for the City and Club of Newcastle, as well as the wider region, on top of watching great football and success!
Instead we are faced with this slow death under Mike Ashley and to add insult to injury he is still committed to selling off the lease on land opposite the Gallowgate End, which if it is developed would mean no chance of a future expansion of St.James’ Park, no matter what happened in the future – including a Sheikh Mansour coming along.
