Not the best of displays but obviously it’s the result that matters.

Despite playing less than a half of the game, I’d say Bernardo was our star performer. He could be a dark for POTY.

In terms of negatives/minor caused for concern, Mendy doesn’t look to offer much unless deployed as a wing back in a 3-5-2/5-3-2. Mahrez had a poor first half but did have some encouraging moments later on in the game, and Fernandinho is making more unforced errors than usual.

Beautiful from Walker and Sterling. Everyone else somewhere between average and awful. No point worrying because we started last season worse than this and we all know how that turned out. Seven games between the next two international breaks and we should be aiming for six wins.

Please no more system changes. No team can live with this teams' 4-3-3 system with the fullbacks coming inside and hanging back to offer support. Not only is the team so much more cohesive and controlled and as such able to retain possession and maintain attacks, they can also press and win the ball back effectively as soon as they lose it. No more overlapping runs from mendy, just hang back to offer support like walker on the other side and leave the attackers to link with the midfielders and create chances like last season. The team broke the goals record last season with that system, I still don't get why pep decided to change and experiment with something else this season. I don't think they even had a single counter attack once the system reverted back to a 4-3-3

I agree with most of this.

But I do think Pep is right in trying new systems and formations. I think two up front should only be used if 4-3-3 is struggling to create any chances.

I think Mendy has unbalanced the team, hopefully it's just a settling in period as he's effectively like a new signing but there is a distinct unbalance imo, prefer Delphy

Not really concerned, early season rustiness, bit of lethargy and against that massive b&w bus many teams will struggle to play fluent football. We will improve significantly no doubt about that. My only concern is how mahrez fits in to this team but Pep will suss it out. Fernandinhos form has to improve he looks very rusty thankfully he'll stay in Manc the next 2 weeks and not play for Brazil. Also Sane, we need him back asap. Cant be easy though playing in a silent stadium, today was worse than ever. Onwards and upwards.
