Newcastle (H) post match thread

Just seen the highlights. Had Sterling or Sergio been clad in scarlet there would have been two pens. Somebody convince me they were not fuckin' penalties. Just had a text from my ERO "Why is that not a pen?" with ref to some incident in the Sheff U box yesterday. They are stonewall at Anfield and particularly The Swamp. Teams are gettiing flim-flammed every fuckin' week!
Aguero was offside and sterling’s just wasn’t.

Very comfortable win and you could tell after the second goal went in it was all about game management and conserving energy for the next games coming up.

Our £60M right back was MOM, he had an excellent game. Our £50M and £65M centre back pairings continue to impress and the £40M makeshift left back looked solid.

Our £25M midfielder ran the show and deserved a goal and he was assisted by our £50M winger who was good in patches but looked like he played within himself. Our £60M defensive midfielder looks like he could do with a rest and I think our £30M vertran midfielder with play tomorrow night.

Our world class £55M midfielder still looks off and I think he needs a rest. Our £40M winger still looks out of form but hopefully by playing more games will get him back to his old self.

Our £30M keeper was very good and some of his passing was ridiculous.

Our winger who played as a striker was very good and his movement is very impressive. Sorry I don't remember how much we paid for him as it was never fucking mentioned

Aguero was clearly offside, so it was guaranteed it was never going to be a pen. Are you convinced now?

He did amazing against Salah tho
He’ll play left back most of the time when Walker is fit. Mendy and Zinchenko are nowhere near his level even when he plays on the left. Ake is obviously an option but with Walker right back you’re then getting absolutely nothing going forwards from either fullback and in a team that lacks real width it would make it harder to break teams down.

We looked good yesterday and apart from the finishing and dodgy var it would of been 3/4.

the passing was better in the final 3rd. Cancelo has arrived and in that form looks amazing. Gundo and Rodri did ok in the midfield.

I am loving the CB pairing of Stones & Dias. It is resolute and dependable. Feel sorry for Laporte but Stones is on fire at the min so he will have to wait.

Newcastle did not do much bar the odd counter which we dealt with. Eddie also had a decent game.

a win at Everton and our season is underway.

Good stuff

Matchday still stinks of negativity

Cancello superb. Some good probing play by Gundogan.

Kick on, City

Good solid performance barring in mind the amount of games we have. Though City were better when Sterling is on the right, but that just me ! Thought everyone put a shift in, in horrible conditions. Happy with that :)

The matchday thread is bizarre, we are supposed to be football fans who understand the game and what it takes to play at a high level. Yet on there some people think we should be playing ever game at a high 100 mph press, we should score with every chance. Its become at poison in there lately. The moans about Foden coming on for 3 minutes ! Just before that I said Gundogan looks injured and than Pep took him of, hope he was just knackered.

Just on VAR thought it was a penalty on Sterling, soft one yes but he clearly stands on Sterling foot. How wasnt Carol booked or sent off for leading with his elbow ? I hate to say it but it City had committed those the penalty and red card would have been given.
