Newcastle (H) post match thread

Solid defensive performance and two well taken goals, clinical without creating as many clear cut chances as we would like. Thought Aguero looked a lot sharper when he came on and should’ve got a goal. Having a striker makes us look so much more threatening (obviously). The two positions aguero picked up for his chances just can’t be trained or taught you either have it or you don’t, hopefully he stays fit and we start putting more chances away. GAME ON!

Totally agree, but I never heard the commentators mention “Contact” which is rolled out every time Kyle Walker touches somebody in the box or “he’s got every right to go down” because a defender had the audacity to be brave enough to make a challenge in the box and there’s a coming together, The Egyptian Tom Daley Penandez & Steptoe have this down to a ‘T’ and the press now call it an Art, it’s fookin cheating, our lads are pathetic at it, especially Raz, never a pen live or with the benefit of VAR, but it’s the VAR slow mo that’s encouraging all this and it’s got Riley & his pigmol cronies dirty little fingers all over it
The arsenal one yesterday,
The commentators including Neville were adamant it wasn’t.
It was pretty similar to the Leicester ones against us that the commentators in that game (not sure if Neville) said they were “stone wall” and Walker was silly.

Watched the game with future son in law. A Newcastle season ticket holder. Living in the North East means I am surrounded by them.
Attitudes seem to have mellowed towards City since the failed take over. Any one but Liverpool or United for them now. They now see the power plays and corruption a bit more clearly.

In the end a very good result and an excellent weekend for us in this crackpot season. Focus on our own games and Maureen will continue parking the bus and drawing, Liverpool will continue to be good one game and average the next, MU will continue being unpredictable, Everton will have lengthy good and poor spells in equal measure, and Leicester will struggle when injuries kick in - especially if Vardy's out.

We are now the nightmare on the top four's shoulder. There they all are having the season of their lives (apart from Liverpool who are now permanently up there), but if they care to take a look at what's behind 'em, they see us quietly looking straight back, far from our best but improving. They all know what we can do.
