Newcastle (H) post match thread

Apparently Aguero was offside, but, why wasn't Carrol sent off for the elbow on Stones? Just glossed over, but, just imagine if that was one of ours? Straight red, without a doubt. I can just hear the commentary now if that had been Balotelli; red card; ban; no - followed by an extended ban.... and probably deportation.

I texted my lad and mentioned to Mrs Ewing that NUFC had twice has many fouls but we had the yellow card. And who was it that got a booking for fouling Carroll? I haven't seen a game where Carroll hasn't walked a tightrope having had one yellow, and seemingly let off another couple before Bruce or his previous managers didn't pull him to prevent what would have been an invevitable second. The awarding of pens, and yellow and red cards is a lottery that makes the National Lottery look like a sure-fire winner for anyone buying a fuckin' scratchcard.

Carroll should have had a straight red for the elbow, but yet again, VAR ignores it as it wasn’t a city player doing it. If it was, it would have been on SlySports constant loop, asking for a public hanging.
Absolute disgrace. All we are asking for is CONSISTENCY. There’s none at all.

simon who ? never heard of him, but than again i did myself a great favour about 5 or 6 years ago and stopped buying or reading the press, dont listen to sky, bt, talksport or bbc sports for about the same time. It makes life so much better i watched the game i make my own mind up about what i saw who i thought played well or not. Dont need some drunken hack to tell me what my own eyes saw.
I prefer the views of a drunk small claims solicitor to that of a drunken hack.

He seem's to have a renewed confidence about the physical side of the game recently. Last few weeks haven't really seen him bottling challenges like he has done in the past, and is getting stuck in, good to see.
His all round game not just getting his foot it is good to see. He's taken a lot of stick on here but I'd play him with fernandinho before rodri any day!

Simon Mullock is a big blue of the old school and a decent fella tbf

It was a professional performance and a comfortable win, we didn't allow Newcastle to threaten us at any time. Boring to watch though, me & both my two lads fell asleep in the first half.

Additionally, the commentary - referring to Rodri foul for yellow card as "cynical". When the same happened in the 2nd half by a toon player it was treated to a *giggle* and "clear foul". The difference isn't lost on us.
