Otamendi Motm for me

Raheem was my MOTM, did some good defensive work to add to the goal.

Toss up between Gundogan, Sterling and Danillo for man of the match.

Between Raheem and Otamendi for me, and Danilo worth a shout, for me, just Raheem, as he did two jobs, attacking and defending.

Looked as if were conserving energy.

Quite amusing watching Pep going nuts at Bernardo for dribbling thirty yards and replacing him with Sterling who then did exactly the same thing.

A bit unlucky before the goal today, but in itself we played fairly well, never was in doubt when being "only" 1-0 up. People must be spoiled if they get scared at the end of the game with a score like that, even when a draw would hardly have hurt us. The expectations we have of this team nowadays ... win everything and win it comterably?

Raz so good, Otamendi too, good cameo from Mangala, Walker have had better games. Still Raz for Motm for me, he was just playing with defenders for fun.

Game reminded me a bit to the Carabao cup game at West Brom. We lowered ourselves to their level. Don’t know what Newcastle were trying to do but it hardly looked like football. At home and with their fans actually accepting this shit. Pity we didn’t punish them only to make it hard on ourselves.

What that means is that the maximum points they can get is 97 (not that they are likely to). Another way of putting it is that 39 more points - 13 wins - gives us the title assuming they don’t catch us on goal difference.

And every time the rags don’t win, that number falls.

I actually think that first half was bordering in too easy and I think because of it our mentality in the second half was just to take the game for granted.

fair dos newcastle, that was the most extreme park the bus formation i think i have ever seen by a home team. 2 banks of 5 and zero pressing at all. No ambition, no fight, nothing.
and then lob it forward for the last 5 mins in hope.
Really wish we had put our chances away and made the scoreline reflect the actual game.

well done lads. not easy too break these buses down week in week out.
