Howe's team set up not unlike Klopp's (not the current season one) - the heavy emphasis on pressing, direct sometimes almost hoofball-like attacking style, and the narrow 433 during the defensive phase.

The only slight difference is the dynamics of Howe's front three, instead of a false 9 (Firmino) and a wing forward (Salah), Howe's front 3 is more regular, with wingers (Gordon, Almiron) and an out-and-out forward (Isak, Wilson). Also, Howe morphed it slightly by having 3 at the back with Burn during the attacking phase, whilst Klopp drops Henderson/Fabinho into the flanks to cover for TAA. Besides that, tactical philosophy-wise, you can practically say Howe's Newcastle is Liverpool reincarnated.

What is interesting is Howe's Bournemouth didn't set up this way, so he must've gotten some inspiration and done his studying during his sabbatical.
 
If tonali played for city how much hatred would he be getting. I mean its all positive positive , club helping him through this difficult time, putting their arms around him to help him.

If he played for city they would be asking for an investigation into the club and a much longer ban, and certainly not playing through it like he could be at the weekend.

It stinks tbh, he's a cheat.
 
Seems odd that Howe will play him this weekend if the ban paperwork doesn't go through. Morally, it's wrong but could Newcastle also get in trouble for that? Hardly in the spirit of things, is it? If Tonalli scores the winner against wolves, and wolves go down, do they kick up a stink?

What I would say on the wider issue of gambling in professional football, is that it is highly hypocritical of ye governing bodies to keep slapping fines and abns on players for making bets, when the coffers of many a football club and footballing related organizations are stuffed full by betting companies, and us plebs can't move for adverts around the game encouraging us to gamble.

If they want to take it seriously, don't accept their money either. Clearly a player betting on games is a slightly different issue, but personally I'd happily see football turn it's back on gambling completely.

Personally, I think he’s got off lightly. Ten months can easily be translated as seven months as three months is the close season. Three years is the maximum but the template is now plead gambling addiction and ten months is the default penalty. He bet on matches he played in so even pleading guilty and gambling addiction should be at least two years, a third of a reduction on the maximum.
