It was only his constant coarse language while going into post match rants that made his stuff watchable, now it's all radio show chat rubbish and he's deleted all of those including the Iceland rant.

We also have a central defender called Alex Murphy, he came on as a substitute in America against Chelsea and looked out of place for about 5 minutes which is understandable but after that 5 minutes, he's looked like he has always been in the team, he's so comfortable in the team and helped us keep a clean sheet against Fiorentina today.

Elliot Anderson is another kid who seems to be coming good having scored 3 goals so far in pre-season. one of the goals was only against Gateshead but he's also scored against Villa and Brighton. The only thing with Anderson is that he often makes the wrong decisions but I would put that down to a lack of games. Hopefully he'll go out on loan in the second half of the season if we're out of Europe because he has everything except experience and that can only come with games.

The change around in our academy is like night and day and that’s down to better coaching and the fact that we now train all of out age groups to play the same way so a kid can drop straight into a team at any level and knows how to play in whatever role he’s given. That might sound basic but it’s something that we’ve always got wrong and it's so easy to get right.

I know I've been missing for a while but I've been massively busy and hardly has free time to do anything. I just thought that I would bring this post up about Miley. The lad is class and in a few short weeks has had his first assist in the Premier League, his first assist in the Champions League and then today scored his first Premier League goal aged 17. He has a massive future if we manage him right.


He's been lucky to have benefited from the injuries that we've picked up and at this time, he's proven that he can start games as a genuine first choice in our midfield. He didn't start today because Howe is trying to protect him and I agreed with that. Hopefully we'll start him on Tuesday at Chelsea in the League Cup, even if Joelinton is fit. If Joelinton is fit then out best fit midfield is Bruno, Miley and Joelinton.

Things I've missed since last posting is:

Massive injuries that get added to game by game. Today we had one player return and two others drop out.

We're looking at whether to expand St James' or move to a new stadium which would be my choice as long as it's slightly North of where we are now and by slightly, I mean the new ground bordering on the car park at the Leazes end.

We've gone out of Europe and I don't care although we really should have won away at PSG but that's life.

Other than that it's just been inconsistent performances in Europe and away from home in the league.
