Newcastle United (A) | Post Match thread

The challenge on KDB was very similar to the challenge by Martin Buchan on Colin Bell that indirectly finished his career..The same cudve happened to Kev. Only inches away!..Red card was the right decision by the Ref until VAR got involved..What did we ever do to upset Andy Hinchcliffe so much?..Total Knobhead these days.

Yeah, blahhhh, whatever. We need to be beating teams like Newcastle. Did well to get a draw and at least we're not United. Roll on next game.

Oh yeah. Foden was diabolical and can't for the life of me understand why Pep never used any subs. I'm sure Alvarez would have injected some speed and skill up front.
I dunno. I have wondered if Haaland was the right player for our style. I'm more inclined to think that Alvarez is the man we need (another Sergio), and not Erling. Sure he's an amazing goal scorer and got 3 already, but is he 100% suited to City playing style ? I don't think so.

Anyway, a game to forget and move on. Time for another beer and chill for a few hours.
If you're not convinced he's the perfect striker after watching that, then I really don't know what more you want. He showed a constant willingness to run in behind, which nearly got us a goal. He showed he can link the play brilliantly to set up Kev in the first half. He showed he's alive to half chances with his goal. And he showed he can score out of nothing when he received the ball, turned his man, cut onto his right and had his shot tipped onto the post.

He was superb, and he's only going to get better.

Would you be saying that if he'd have caught the back of Kevs knee and put him out for 6 months. Like Trent on Sane.

He's off the floor, out of control and his only intention was to bring Kev down. You can't rescind a red card on luck.
The words “Off the floor” and “out of control” are not in the laws of the game when it comes to red card offence. They are phrases that shit pundits have been using for too long because they don’t know the laws of the game. You can be off the floor and out of control and it just be a free kick with no card shown.

  • Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed
  • Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned
  • Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off

There was no excessive force. The bullet point for a caution (yellow card) is exactly what Tripper’s offence was.

1 point is good for us. We were so bad, i’ve never seen we played like that since Arsenal game.

I'm worried about crystal Palace next week with our defence. Zaha is on form and so are palace they could cause us big issues next week. Especially with how our defence was today
At home we'll be ok. As someone said, that was Newcastles fa cup final. That being said, i think points at Newcastle will look like decent points come the end of the season.

I think this iteration of the side might be the weakest since Pep built the 2017/18 side. The balance doesn’t feel good and we have no depth at all. The importance of the players that have left has been seriously undervalued by the fans IMO.

I still expect we’ll win the league because Liverpool don’t look up to it, but currently this side doesn’t get close to 17/18, 18/19 or 20/21 for me.
Seriously undervalued by the club it seems. The only person pushing Walker and Cancelo was supposed to be playing for Girona right now. We look thin all around.

Calm down fella, it's a game of opinions. Your comment is rawk mentality. There's enough hate in the world without wishing "the worst' for people.
And with Hinchcliffe being a Rag he’s probably suffered enough although if he was to get home and find his Mrs in bed with Bish and Morley I would allow myself a wee smile.
