I reckon it should be added to our armoury, but Newcastle cruelly exposed the weaknesses behind the genius formation.

We should have reverted to a flat back four with overlapping full backs within the first 30 minutes of the match.

It was only 10 days ago you were predicting we were gonna get 95-100 points and win it at a canter being much better than anyone else…

If we keep hitting the 100 points mark, it's simply unfair on the rest of the league as GN keeps saying! With less depth in the squad this season, we're looking for a sympathy title win in the high 80s instead where we'll be lauded for doing it with such a light squad ... I'll not hold my breath. On another note, another rapid fire yellow from Cancelo while Joelington going in hard all game gets his on 85 minutes

Bit of a weird game. Thought we were awful for most of the first hour, looked decent at 3 1 down to pull it back level, then reverted to playing like the first hour again once level.

Having said that Haaland could have scored 4 (foden non cross/hit post/toe poke over the bar) but we look a bit dodgy at the back when teams run at us…..

Not the worst result, SJP will be a difficult place to go for many teams but we were far from great today…

I'm not sure a red card like that has ever been recinded before. Wasn't an obvious error from the ref. Airborne challenge that connected. Seems.... strange.

Definite red card for Tripper, out of control ,both feet off the ground and a cynical knee high challenge , and Hinchcliffe can f*ck right off , he couldnt tackle a decent breakfast when he played the game.

Just a thought… why wouldn’t Pep get some fresh legs in when Toon’s players were clearly knackered? It seems he doesn’t trust Grealish but I thought he could’ve given Dan Burn fits down the right flank for the last 10 or so. I felt we could’ve found the winner had Pep made a sub or two. Can’t be too unhappy with taking a point from being down 3-1 tho. Brilliant FK from Trippier. Newcastle are going to be a problem in the near future.

The ref gave a red initially - it could only be because he thought Trippier was out if control as he was airborne.

Thought the foul on Kev was probably a yellow but close enough to a red for that to be given. Once the ref gave it there was absolutely no need to re referee it. Definitely no obvious error and thought ref did a decent job until VAR decided to question him.
