Yeah, you may well be right. Think he’s invested a fair bit of time on the training pitch getting Fernandinho to play as a centre-half which makes sense, given his age, and can’t see him reverting for a short-term fix. Shame though, as he’s still comfortably our best holding midfielder. Pity we can’t clone him.
Think 3-5-2 would alleviate some of the defensive woes as Ferny could step forward into midfield and also Cancelo and Mendy can attack with defensive cover behind them

I've advocated 3-5-2 for weeks. Maybe Pep doesn't think the players he's got would stick to it?

Now that we have attacking fullbacks we can actually do this formation thats always been the problem. I think he doesn't want to do it because it would mean him having to drop certain players

I have felt the same since the Wolves game, and even more now Kun is out injuries as Raz & Jesus can play up top but Pep loves 4-3-3

Angelino for Mendy; Maybe swap Ota for Dinho, as I would prefer to rest Dinho for the Burnley game. Otherwise rest him at Burnley, ready for manu.
Play Ferny Saturday give him the full weeks rest for the derby. Surely Otamendi will play at Burnley to use him with Burnley's aerial threat. Not convinced with Angelino at all, Constantly caught out of position with the crossfield pass being tucked in too much to the centre halves. Love to see Mendy being back fully fit with a run of games.

It is odd, i missed game on Tuesday i was out of country, but watched on TV and what was quite noticeable was how different the full backs played and seem to have for a while, when Zinchenko or Delph played and on the other side Walker and Danilo they would push inside to make the midfield a lot more compact and we would pass teams to death, you don't see that, maybe because it was on TV but i could not see Angelino in particular as he was so wide all the time.
