Agree with your last sentence there.I don't believe the figures that come out are all covid related, more people die from flu a year. We can't lockdown and keep getting jabbed every time a new strain arrives, sheer madness. We have to live with it now unfortunately

Really hope I’m wrong but this post could turn out to be massively misplacedOmicron is the weakest of all the variants and has killed one 86 year old who had underlying heart conditions so yeah at the moment with omicron its pure scaremongering. Even south Africa who had it first can't believe uk hysteria I can cos we are the most gullable people in Europe.
The only way we can even contemplate living with it has come from vaccinating so many so that almost everyone has some level of exposure to the virus. Going forward it could be dealt like 'flu.Agree with your last sentence there.

Tbf the poster might have seen the same news report I did last week where South African doctor was interviewed and said patients coming in this time was nothing like previous waves; this time they all had so much milder symptoms; throat more than chest iirc.Really hope I’m wrong but this post could turn out to be massively misplaced

Hopefully yes. But stating there has only been one death is ridiculous. It’s only been here a couple of weeks. Deaths will start kicking in 3-4 weeks after infection.
