How safe is Ake’s starting position in the starting lineup for the next few weeks, including Newcastle?
They've defended incredibly well when called upon, Delighted for Ake he seems like a great lad and he's proving himself in the side.I would say safe for Newcastle but the introduction of Stones v Bournemouth means he's probably not far off of a start.
At the moment though Dias & Ake haven't put a foot wrong.
I agree Ake and Dias have played well. Laporte is out until September so I was considering whose starting place Stones is most likely to take in the meantime. Any thoughts?I would say safe for Newcastle but the introduction of Stones v Bournemouth means he's probably not far off of a start, probably the charity game v Barca to get some minutes in his legs.

If Pep's serious about having a left footer and a right footer in the middle of defence when possible then Stones needs to be competing with Dias.I agree Ake and Dias have played well. Think Laporte is the best at passing out, especially past a press. They've defended incredibly well when called upon, Delighted for Ake he seems like a great lad and he's proving himself in the side.
I must admit though I do think we miss Stones when he doesn't play. He's our best centre back when it comes to carrying the ball and passing through the lines he's unbelievable at it. I think Sunday will be our toughest test so far this season so I'd be happy to see Stones back to open up Newcastle a bit more.
