Aren’t the EFL financial rules far stricter than the PL rules?
I think that they are genuinely more well-intentioned, rather than a means to prevent teams competing with Liverpool, Arsenal and Trafford twats.
 
If Toon go down, they will be outside the clutches of the Premier League, they can then spend what they want safe in the knowledge the EFL won‘t be able to touch them if they stay in the Premier League. UEFA also won’t be able to touch them until they qualify for Europe and then the clock starts, a bit like the bin dippers when they breached FFP but got away with it, as per usual.
Yeah. But they will be in the championship.
 
Spanish Robbie Fowler would stabilise them with the added bonus of taking points off the rags.
 
Must be depressing if you're a Villareal (or La Liga) fan. You're EL winning coach is leaving your now CL team to join an English relegation threatened side.

We know why the move is happening, but still..
