Pleased for the Newcastle fans who have stuck by them but it would be remiss not to mention Everton have spent £500m in three years and have not moved the needle, the dynamics are different to what they were in 2008.
Newcastle won't move the needle too much because the truly top players can get big wages anywhere. We have had the money to put Messi and Ronaldo in the same team but it doesn't work like that.
What they will get is better than what they have, which is certainly a start.
From a political perspective, it's a very good day for City. We don't have many allies in the Premier League, I can see a lot of business being doing between the two clubs in the near future.
Sterling, Ake and Mahrez for £200m should do it ;)
