If Newcastle are trusting him to platform them into a top 6 club it’s a shocker of an appointment. He has no experience at the top table and at best will stop them going down. They are dreaming of they think he is the guy. Maybe a 2 year appointment to steady the decline and get them into the top ten. Really can’t understand the appointment.
No issues with Howe seems a decent guy and Iam sure he is on plenty of cash so good luck to him.

I like Howe but not sure about this one. He can’t afford not to keep them up but even if he does the pressure to climb the table quicker than is probably realistic is going to be hard.

they should be targeting getting in the top 10 in 3 seasons and from there making a push on but I can see them wanting top 10 next season

I was hoping they would push out United from the top 4 club. It won't be happening anytime soon, sadly.

Think it’s a good appointment. He did great at Bournemouth and kept them up, when really they should have gone down years ago, with their budget
This is not true. Bournemouth's wage bill was midtable at over £100m. Howe was backed by Russian who owns Bournemouth,

I mean a club that has stadium of 10k had wage bill of £100m and they still went down. Bournemouth invested quite heavily.

I think media distorts the opinion of English managers even if they do underwhelming job. If Howe was foreign he would have been royally slagged off the season Bournemouth went down, which was better squad than this current Newcastle squad.

This appointment will not end well for Newcastle. Saudis clearly don't know what they are doing thankfully.

Really shocked at this supposed appointment of Eddie Howe I can't see any way of Newcastle staying up this season. His Bournemouth side were a side that concede numerous goals every season especially in his last season at the club, His incompetence and his really poor transfer windows of signings are the reason Bournemouth went down, Ibe, Solanke, Lerma just to name a few were all big money players and none of them good enough so how can he be trusted if given funds in January to keep them in the Premier League...Strange strange move from the Newcastle board.

Newcastle are down no doubt about it.
