I can't be alone in wondering why, if Howe is such a decent manager, then why has he been out of work for over a year at such a young age?
I wish him luck at Newcastle, i think he'll need it

One thing's for sure - he has to hit the ground running. Looks like more disaster on the cards for the toon though, imho. He doesn't come across as a particularly inspirational figure. No doubt he'll do his best, in the knowledge that he'll be getting paid off soon if he doesn't turn it round by Xmas - would you entrust millions of investment on his say-so if he hasn't turned it round soon?
If they haven't got this appointment right they'll go down and then struggle ever to recover.
Their next 4 games are Brighton away; Brentford at home; Arsenal away and Norwich at home. He has to do better than 3 points out of that lot - a win against Norwich would have been expected no matter who was in charge.

He has a lot of potential as a Manager, but Newcastle will make a couple of big name statement signings and I wonder if top european and south american players will be attracted will know who he is.

So a Geordie text me this week saying Unai had 4 European trophies to Peps 0. Pointed out the error to which he replied "but he's won nowt major whilst at City". Now bear in mind this guy is always preaching about saving the planet is a member of Greenpeace so I asked him if he was fine with the Saudis taking over & his reply shows the ignorance of some of the geordies.
