Feel for the Sunderland fans who will take a lot of shit over the next few years. I vastly prefer them to Newcastle. I do have a mate who is a magpies fan and I’m happy for him but overall their fans have been pretty hostile towards us and there is a strong element of hypocrisy coming from a lot of their support right now.

Not sure they will be able to buy enough players in jan to keep them up this season

Just seen a tweet debating the type of players they’ll be able to attract first of all.

Names like Ake, Ward-Prowse, Traore, Origi, Lingard, Bale being banded about. Reminds me of when we went through that middle-ground phase, really exciting.

Players are one thing, they need a manager first. If they stay up, Conte...?

A funny side note, Griezmann infamously had a Football Manager save as Newcastle and given his current precariousness, I bet he’s looked at anyway.

Honestly, they should try to buy Sterling. With his contract situation dragging on, if they dropped a shed load of money at our door and offered him obscene wages, stranger things have happened. It’s not like anyone else has the money to buy him. Realistically of course, he’ll either extend or leave on a free to Spain. But they should at least try for that statement signing.

I personally am glad for them because I hate Ashley and what he's done to that club. That should never have been allowed, but tbh the fans havent done nearly enough to get him out.

I am also glad that the PL is going to be even more competitive, and they cannot deny it has become more competitive as a result of City and what we've done.

I am also looking fw to Newcastle being fkin hammered by the media once they start actually winning stuff. Once/if they do (And I think Pep has been the difference with City not the money) the hate will really ramp up because really, no one gives a flying shite about Human Rights.

He wouldnt go there.

I think some really overestimate Newcastle attraction despite money. It was not until Guaridola was appointed City manager City started to consistently sign genuine quality. Before that we had likes of Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Toure, Fernandinho yes, but the "supporting cast" had many average players like Bony, Lescott, Fernando, Mangala, Kolarov, Balotelli, Bridge, Adebayor, Javi Garcia, Sagna, Rodwell, Maicon, Jovetic, Navas, Santa Cruz, Johnson. over the years.
