I was hoping this would mean our press would finally start acknowledging the difference between state owned clubs and privately owned clubs and private wealth and state money. Until I read this:

Approval from the Premier League could possibly come in the next 24 hours after a consortium proved the Saudi state would not have control of the club.

Instead the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is set to provide 80% of funds for the £300m deal, will be seen as separate to the state and therefore allow the takeover to pass the Premier League owners’ and directors’ test.

Isn't the PIF still run with state money? I'm not sure I understand how they convinced them that it has nothing to do with their government tbh. Not that I agree with the FFP rules, PSG are owned and controlled by a state already.

Also, £300m? I thought Ashley was holding out for much more than that.

What you really wanted to say was that Hughes created the basis of the team that Mancini was able to develop and take on to the title. Gareth Barry, Vinny, Tevez, Lescott, Kolo, Zabba, Nigel de Jong. Also others such as Bellamy who were good while they were here and he signed them when no one expected us to be a success. Funny that Hughes gets no credit while Mancini gets the credit off many for Pellegrini's title!
As I said a bag of shite.

Who are the PIF? Sounds fishy as anything that.

it’s the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi set up to invest funds on behalf of the government

how this is deemed to not be state owned is a mystery

Good for them and it'll upset cunts who dress in red but will these Barcode nobheads apologise for giving us shit since the takeover?

Yeah, I just looked it up. Seems to be state money. To be fair it was founded in 1971, I was half expecting to see 2021. Like I said in my edit though, I don't see how they can have that rule in UEFA since PSG are already owned and controlled by a state. Why would the PL have stricter owner rules than UEFA... Other than the control Manchester United and Liverpool have over them.

That's true but does this new Europa Trophy thing count, if so it could go down to sixth or seventh place

1. Bet that fat c#nt True Geordie is up all night deleting his hundreds of videos slandering the city owners.

2. Glad it'll take a bit of heat away from city.

3. Be hilarious if they go down this season.

Number 3 please. Now that would be funny.

Good luck to them but I feel this has come 5 years to late for them, there’s an awful lot of catching up to do for Newcastle, probably 4 seasons at the very earliest plus they have the small matter of actually staying in the premier league. As I say good luck to them it’s good to have a competitor from the north for a change.

Here we really go then.

Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Conte at the helm in the coming months, or maybe even weeks. Conte isn't adverse to a 'building project' (as seen at Inter) so long he's given the funds to do so.
...or even averse.

It is state owned make no mistake about it, but it is very clear that the PL did not want things to come out in open court so for them " it isn't".
