Great win! The moaners will be out in force over certain aspects of our performance, but it needs to be put into context. For some players that was their first appearance after 0 minutes of pre-season football. The squad is not fully fit, not sharp... yet we go to a rejuvenated Newcastle and win 2-0. Great stuff. Top of the league.

Nothing really to moan at
I was in the match thread whilst it was 0-0...

Good win despite not being anywhere near our best.
We will only get better over the next month.
Dzeko excellent today. Really excellent.

Sketchy performance, great result. Dzeko excellent, Clichy and Fernando very good.

A few looked off the pace - Demichelis, Toure, Fernandinho - but they will all hopefully be up to speed by next week.

Foy was his usual shitness. 5 yellows to us in just 11 fouls. Crazy. Seemed to apply rules differently for home team and away, the 2 free kicks in 2 minutes when he didn't even use the spray or book their player and 2 mins later does both those against us

Not the first time we've had a yellow for every second foul.

I know it's a bit 'out there' but has anyone considered that there might be some kind of agenda against us?

Think it was Martin Atkinson, didn't think he did too bad, all the bookings were legit IMHO.

That's because he reffed West Ham vs Spurs yesterday.

There were literally loads of people slagging off Pellegrini and his team in the pre match thread. Scary how thick some of our fans are.

Well played City!

Would of been a complete different reaction on here if Fernando hadn't of got that deflection.

Was impressed by city today, but not so the attacking, more so our defensive approach, players like Silva really helped at the back today.

Newcastle were a well organised team today and tested us a good few times (although they had no shots on target)

Urgent improvement - set piece/corners defending

Was you even watching the game?
*were

;-)

Fantastic singing from our boys! never heard them so loud in an away game on TV
Thought that was a typical 1st game of the season loosener, home side have obviously had more time to train pre-season, which was a bit of a leveller.
Will have to work on that midfield a little before the next game, I expect we will steadily improve, but still, against a Newcastle side who really put everything into trying to catch us cold, a 2-0 win is a decent result.
