Darker shade of blue, your kidding yourself if you think you could turn down eighteen million cash. Our deals have been paid upfront, the same with Barry. Moyes would rip our arm off.
Well , it's certainly a lot of money , but there are other equations to consider .
Joleon had a mediocre season last year ( by his own standards ) , but our squad was torn to shreds with injuries , so it was hard for all concerned .
He's still one of the best at what he does , and easily capable of holding his place in any team in the world , not just in the Prem .
Everton don't need to sell him , as we're not financially trying to stay afloat so to speak , and though the money would come in handy , it's a general step backwards for the team if we do .
There has been fresh rumours of some investment in the club ( probably bollox ) so maybe we can afford to consolidate for now .
We still don't know what our budget is for the season , and probably won't find out publically either .
If we can raise £20-25 mill , then that might be enough to make our side very competetive without selling .
If we did sell Lescott , then it would be headline news , and that would be a problem for us trying to get other players in on the cheap .
At the end of the day though , if City want him badly enough , and only Hughes will know that ( not us ) then they can afford to pay enough to truly compensate us for our loss .
I think the price will go to £25 million with add ons . :o)
I know he is valuable to your team, and for that reason I understand your over valuation of the lad. IMO you will be lucky to get 15 million upfront from us.
If we want him, we will get him. You will be competitive next year, I am sure. Moyes has done a fantastic job with limited money, I was very surprised he wasnt talked about for the Chelsea job in all honesty.
His style of play is not to my liking, but it works. You will never progress any further IMO, destined for 5th, 6th, 7th for a while. 20 million is not enough for you to keep up with us or Villa.
I think we will be very close to you next year, we need some of the grit you have away from home, if we find it we will push Arsenal.
If you want him , you will get him .........
Yes , I think you will , providing he wants to come . Remember Everton is a wonderful club for players at the moment , and Joleon is very happy here .
I'm sure that he is fully aware of City's potential though , and possible earning increase . He is probably confident enough in his own ability to know he could shine there too and keep his place .

With a fully fit squad , we only need 3 or 4 players to complete our line up .
Our biggest problem will be having enough quality back up , to compete in all competitions . Our style of play is getting better all the time to be fair . Lads like Baines and Pienaar have been outstanding this year , and played some great football to boot .
Our youngsters look very promising , and backed up well last year . We aren't playing football like Barca , but that's not easy to do with no money a such .

I think you will move forward next season .
Not so much because of new signings , but because Hughes will have had chance to assess . Add to that a stronger defence and you're half way there .
Without wanting to sound defensive , Everton are a much better side than Villa , but are a few seasons behind Arsenals building . We didn't just have injuries last season , but it was our best players that hit the hospial .
The Yak is a 20 goal striker , and if he can get that back , will give us some security up front once again .
Arteta was our main play maker , and his loss was Pienaars gain somewhat . Having him back again in the center , with Pienaars rise to the surface will be a great boost .
Our right side has been the biggest problem , and our only weakness really .
If we can improve that , and perhaps add a good defensive midfielder , and maybe one more striker , we we still be up there .
City can only take 6 points from us , but they might take points from our rivals too .
We are much better than 6 points from the rest of the pack , so providing we get a good start , I see it as business as usual , which is why we should keep hold of Lescott if possible .
