how mad is that,i worked with a carpet guy on there in the mid 60's i was about 11/12, i'd serve old dears with rugs etc, if that guy did'nt want me i'd sell fruit and veg at the top end, near the other gates.
later on i left school in 1970 and got a job at Smiths the grocers on old church street, i was there a while. when i got my wages i'd pop on to the market to get the latest tunes from the record stall, it was just through the main gates on the right hand side of the first aisle.
happy days indeed.
