Next academy stars?

Confirmed to Celtic on loan, can understand his frustration when he got his chance just for us to sign two other young centre halves to play ahead of him.

That being said, sure we lost every time he played haha
I think he is a classic example of where looking OK or good when given a chance in the 1st team is not generally enough. As I recall he was no better or worse than the rest of our team when he played but they were the kind of games where you would give everyone a 5 or 6 out of 10.

Some players get more leeway. If you can play a position where we struggle to recruit then ok might be enough. I constantly go on about LBs. We should open a specialist LB academy. Just isn't enough of them around.

It's sad when our youth players go. But very few ever get a start so JSP has been lucky there.

Who are the players to watch from the new scholars/lads?

Last season it seems Musaka, Mfuni, R. Heskey, McAidoo were some of the big players for the academy.

Obviously Gorman seems to be a highly rated guy judging from his u18 performances last season. Who else do you guys like?

Hoping to watch some games on City+ again.

The names mentioned are, to me, the most likely.
I am very impressed that despite all of those mentioned moving up to the EDS, we are still able to perform as we have done so far at U18 level. Jayden Heskey is also one of those players who never stands out but does a lot of possession winning and giving it to those with more skill - he knits things together.

Gorman, whom is physically much smaller than all of those names mentioned (McAidoo is shorter but very strongly built) has stayed with the U18, for now. His performances are definitely improving and he was excellent yesterday and has great vision and technique.

Floyd Samba looked great, as did his brother. The former is a physical beast but looks to have good intelligence and a brain. The latter is tricky as hell, can finish, and beat a man with pace and/or trickery. In all the U18 games, Teddy Lamb has looked a big threat and has impressive attacking stats. Too early to say but he has made a great start. I have been very impressed with Kylan Midwood too, who is relentless but very skilled. At the back, I really like Leke Drake.

Somebody else who notices Jayden Heskey contribution. He’s a managers player hence why Ben always picks him. His age group had a few of his type which is why they were so successful (one of most successful ever?). You can’t have a team full of flair players, and the likes of Heskey was imo what last years 18s missed to get them over the line in FAYC and national final. Completely agree on J Heskey Should have a good career

Would agree with all the above. Especially Floyd Samba, I really like what I'm seeing from him. Seems to have it all.

Dante Headley and Marlow Barrett are defenders that seem very highly rated too. Both selected in England squads I believe.

Barrett we got from Coventry and I think he's actually an u16.
