Next Manager after Pep

Wish people would remember what happened to the rags when they appointed solksjaer when shouting for kompany to come to city
I don't think anyone on here is advocating that if Pep left tomorrow that we would look to bring in Vinny. It would be a fairy tail if he came back to manage one day & win a hat full of trophies but first he would need to prove himself elsewhere.

Or maybe he considered and thought the opportunity at United maybe could not come again. I don’t think he’d pass on it on the chance there could or could not be a better job in a year. He’d probably have been a possible Klopp successor at Liverpool as well
Maybe. everythings maybes, nobody knows I was just giving my opinion . Mine is things point to him extending, so we'll wait and see.

Enrique has only won silverware with Barcelona which was a forgone conclusion & he's not really working wonders as the Spain coach so i wouldn't say he was an elite manager.
As for Ancelotti he's in his 60's in the twilight of his managerial career so i doubt he's a manager City would be interested in.
not sure i know who either, but Enrique's "foregone conclusion" was based on following the work done by Pep so there's one parallel and Ancelotti isn't that old that he couldn't be a stop gap for a few years, plus he's quite good at winning things.

Haven't read the whole thread so, sorry, this has almost certainly been argued somewhere.
There's only one man in world football that I don't see as as being a big step down from Pep, and that's Klopp. It's not so much what he's done at Liverpool. He's done well, give him his due, but not that well. One PL title, one CL title. Both domestic cups. Good but not astounding, given that he's now been there for getting on for seven years.
No, it's what he showed he could do at Dortmund. That was something else. Within limits, it's a bit comparable to what Ferguson did at Aberdeen. Going toe to toe against a club (two in Ferguson's case) that was structurally much bigger than his own, that could cherry pick the best players from its own league (including his own) and coming out on top, at least for a while.
I could do with less of the gurning and the theatricals, but I'm sure he'd thrive in our set-up.
But it's absolutely academic, given that he's under contract till 2026. Contracts can be broken, I suppose, but I don't see a chance of it happening.

Ancelotti's 62 now; if Pep goes next summer he'll be 63. That's not all that old for a top manager. Hodgson, Ferguson, both in their seventies when they retired (yes I know, Hodgson's record is in no way comparable to Ferguson's).
His track record speaks for itself — just won the Champions League. Not bad for a twilight. Pep's respect for him is not feigned, I believe.
You could certainly make a worse call.

He’s right at the top of his game.
