Next Manager after Pep

So many things wrong with this post where to start....

Its human nature to look back at things and only remember the good times, besides it’s more fun when it is all new to you. You can’t beat your first time!

we haven’t won a derby in years? We beat them last year in the league cup semi final.

I must have missed us winning the domestic treble under Mancini? I must have imagined us struggling in Europe under mancini? I must have have forgotten mancini leading us to an unprecedented 101 points breaking numerous long standing premier league records along the way. Must have been out the country as well when Mancini retained the premier league title.

Pep has changed the game in this country, I watch non league sides now playing with sweeper keepers passing out from the back etc. Promoted teams now going with managers like potter, farke, frank, Parker etc. The old dinosaurs like Hughes have been finally left behind. That is all a legacy of peps reign here at city. Even the national manager has us playing out from the back (albeit not very well!).

Mancini was fucking brilliant he really was. Love the guy to pieces even to the extent my first born is named Bobby (wife wouldn’t go with roberto). But pep has taken us up a couple of levels. We are now a winning machine we look to win every competition we enter and we have the mentality of an elite side.

Mancini got rid of the mercenaries and Won us two fantastic trophies but pep has not only changed the English game he has absolutely dominated domestically. We have won something like 10 of the last 14 domestic trophies. That is absolutely ridiculos

I’m sorry but i think what Mancini achieved was more difficult to do than what Pep has achieved.

He joined a club that was struggling to match the owner’s ambitions, took us out of the shadows and to the top domestically at a time when the competition was very strong, very local and very vocal. He signed players that became legends and the basis for a decade of success. I think the difficulty of breaking the hold that the Rags has on everything cannot be underestimated. Had we also got Van Persie then who knows.

Don’t get me wrong the current position of the club is wonderful, but without Mancini and his signings we wouldn’t be here now. I think that that shift in the clubs stature, mentally etc. was arguably more difficult to achieve.

Name me one single player that Pep has signed who is better than Yaya, David Silva or Sergio?

Which manager do the dippers most revere? It’s Shankley. He didn’t win them most trophies and didn’t win a European Cup, but what he did was transform the club.

In my opinion, until we win the CL, Pep won’t have taken the club further forward than Mancini did in his spell, relative to when they joined. And RM had a tougher job.

Italy have just gone 28 games unbeaten. The last time they did that was the 1930s. He’s no mug.

There are some serious loyal people to Mancini, borderline obsessive. Even read earlier Pep has been backed, like Mancini wasn’t. Christ. Never will be forgotten what Mancini provided us however to not accept our current manager, team and playing style is light years ahead of anything under Mancini is moronic.

really don’t know where we go from Pep, everything else will be a downgrade.

Kompany and Fernandinho look management material to me. Tactics men (or women) can be No 2s, or part of the coaching staff.

In years gone by football management was often about partnerships...

Clough and Taylor, Mercer and Allison. I don't think Fergie was great at tactics. He had a few no 2s e.g. Queiroz. Maybe the No.2 isn't always a tactician but football tactics really can't be that difficult. The human qualities of leading a group is surely more demanding?

Think we will get an old school manager with a proven record to steady the ship and possibly deliver a champs league for a season or two, Ancelotti maybe before a younger promising manager comes in, who will be billed as the 'next Pep'. But its probably all down hill from that point, even if we are winning stuff, it won't get any better than now.

I’d hate to see what the cunts would have won had Ferguson been good at tactics

Not looking for Pep to go until he wants but when he does, bring Bobby home. I love that man. He's brought my best ever days as a City fan, first trophy, the sick Swan and the greatest moment in PL history.

Think there's absolutely zero chance of Mancini ever returning! No idea who we'll go for when Pep eventually leaves, but presume it will be someone who shares his football philosophy. Doubt we'll see a radical departure from our current style of play.
